On the roof, Under the roof

This house is located in the warm southern region of Saga, Japan. The layout was planned around a central pantry to avoid the monotonous flow typically found in single-story homes. The variation in the flow provides flexibility and adaptability in the residents' daily routines. The architect designed a house with as many lifestyle options as possible, as the owner has various plans for the future of the house. The low roof that divides the house in half provides a deep covering for the terrace, and is low enough to allow access to the roof by stepping on a workbench. Additionally, a small bridge installed on the second floor connects the inside of the house with the roof, creating a path that connects the ground to the roof. Through this, a large playground for children was created.

이 집은 따듯한 일본 남부 사가현에 지어졌다. 보통 단층 집에서 발견되는 단조로운 동선을 피하면서 중앙에 만들어진 팬트리를 중심으로 동선을 계획했다. 이러한 동선의 변화는 거주자의 일상에 유연함과 융통성을 부여한다. 건축주가 집의 미래에 대해 다양한 계획을 가지고 있었기 때문에 건축가는 최대한 많은 라이프스타일의 가능성을 가진 집을 설계하고자 했다. 집을 반으로 가르는 낮은 지붕은 테라스에 깊은 덮개를 제공한다. 한껏 낮춘 지붕은 작업대를 밟고 지붕에 올라갈 수 있을 정도로 땅에 가까이 다가와 있다. 더 나아가, 2층에 설치된 작은 다리는 집 안과 지붕을 연결해 지상에서부터 옥상까지 연결하는 경로를 더했다. 이를 통해 3차원적으로 연결된, 아이들을 위한 커다란 놀이터가 완성됐다.
