This house was built for a French artist and his Japanese wife who travel between Japan, France, and the United States. Located on a hill in Kamakura, a historic city in Japan, this house captures breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and the Shonan coast. To cater to the aesthetic sense of the homeowners, who loves Japanese gardens, the architect incorporated the beauty of nature and the surrounding landscape into the building, allowing it to harmonize with nature. The facade is open towards the surrounding views, while concrete walls completely block the view from the street for privacy. Through a harmony of openness and closure, the building exclusively focuses on the beauty of nature.

이 집은 일본, 프랑스, 그리고 미국을 돌아다니는 프랑스인 아티스트와 일본인 부인을 위해 지어졌다. 일본의 역사적 도시인 카마쿠라의 언덕 위에 자리한 이 집은 후지 산의 정상을 바라보고, 쇼난 해안을 바라볼 수 있는 경이로운 경치를 담는 공간이다. 일본식 정원의 미학에 빠진 건축주 부부를 위해 건축가는 자연의 아름다움과 전경을 건물 안으로 끌어들여 건물이 자연과 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 했다. 주위의 전망을 향해 한껏 개방되면서도 파사드는 프라이버시를 위해 콘크리트 벽으로 길로부터의 시야를 완전히 차단했다. 개방과 폐쇄의 조화를 통해 건물은 자연의 풍경에 독점적으로 집중할 수 있게 했다.
