Gogi-dong is a small neighborhood behind the Naksaeng Reservoir in Yongin. The site is located on a slope, the Naksaeng Reservoir and Ansan city are stretched out. AGIT-G project is started from the request of client, who were about to retire, to create a space in their later years for the hobbies or creative work of their acquaintances or young people full of ideas. This place is a hideout space of dreamers that is open to nature yet appropriately closed. When viewed from the front, the building has a lump form made of masses that are open with white louvers and are on top of an exposed concrete stereobate and piloti-structured deck. Above the open stand that connects the basement space and the yard on the first floor, the client’s detached house can be seen.

The front side that is faced at the entrance of the neighborhood would be an organized volume from a distance, and at the same time, be a space to amply enjoy the view that stretches out to the Naksaeng Reservoir and Ansan city. The windows and glass railings were used, and in order to hide the outside gazes, an additional layer of an louver pseudo-wall was installed. As for the color, the form of the building is organized by white aluminum plates as well as aluminum louvers.

The Basement floor was finished with exposed concrete and Chinese granite stone to resemble a low and heavy stereobate, and on the first floor, an open space where the front nature and the backyard can be opened and shared is a piloti structure. It is a space where the drowsiness and tranquility that can only be felt in a tower of traditional hyanggyos can be enjoyed not only on bright and sunny days, but also on rainy days or snowy days. This building has all four of its sides open, and each side has a slightly different feeling. In particular, as the back side faces the existing detached house, it was finished with long bricks of a soft texture.

By connecting the exterior space where a lot of exterior space can be secured, the spaces harmonize as well as the mutual expansion of the interior and exterior spaces. Outdoor spaces that can be characterized, such as a resting space on the roof with running water on the neighborhood living facility’s roof, a landscape space where one can rest under the shade of a tree or a welcoming space that greets users at the entrance, were created. As for the space to enter each room on the basement floor, it was made to be directly entered after going through a birch garden and a friendly alley. At one end, stand-type stairs of an indefinite form that connect to the courtyard on the first floor were created to move to another space in a different way. The buildings that each have different functions on three different plots communicate with each other, share their outdoor spaces and be connected to each other, to become an attractive building where each of their individuality stands out even more. This place is a hideout that the clients’ touch and those who will use this space, as it goes through one winter and a long rainy season.

세 건물의 상호작용으로 완성된 고기동 근린생활시설, 아지트G

고기동은 용인 낙생저수지 뒤편에 있는 아기자기한 마을이다. 경사지에 위치한 대지는 낙생저수지와 안산이 시원하게 펼쳐지는 곳이다. 이곳에 들어선 아지트G는 은퇴를 앞둔 건축주 부부가 지인들과 젊은이들의 취미나 창작작업을 위한 공간을 만들면서 시작됐다. 아지트G는 자연으로 열려 있으면서도 적절히 닫혀 있는, 꿈꾸는 사람들의 아지트 공간이다. 전면에서 볼 때 건물은 노출콘크리트 기단과 필로티 구조의 데크 위에 하얀 루버로 열려 있는 매스로 덩어리 형태다. 지하공간과 1층 마당을 연결하는 오픈스탠드식의 계단 위로 기존 건축주의 단독주택이 보인다.

마을 초입에서 마주하는 건축물의 전면은 멀리서 볼 때 정리된 볼륨인 동시에 낙생저수지와 안산으로 펼쳐지는 뷰를 내부에서 충분히 누릴 수 있는 공간이다. 창문과 유리 난간으로 개방된 느낌이 더해지며, 외부의 시선을 가리기 위한 루버 가벽이 한 겹 더 설치되어 있다. 흰색 알루미늄 판과 같은 재질의 알루미늄 루버로 정리된 건물의 형태가 드러난다.

지하층의 노출콘크리트와 사비석으로 마감된 낮고 묵직한 기단과 1층의 필로티 구조는 전면의 자연과 뒷마당을 열어주고 공유할 수 있는 오픈된 공간이다. 이곳은 쾌청한 날은 물론, 비 오는 날이나 눈이 내리는 날에도 전통향교의 누각에서 느낄 수 있는 나른함과 평온함이 제공되는 공간이다. 사면이 열린 본 건물은 각 면이 조금씩 다른 느낌을 준다. 특히, 배면은 기존 단독주택과 마주하는 면으로 주택에서 보여지는 벽면으로 따뜻한 질감인 롱브릭으로 마감됐다.

이렇게 다양한 외부공간은 기존에 있던 건물의 외부공간과 연결되어 세 건축물 간의 내부와 외부가 어우러지면서 상호작용하게 만든다. 근린생활시설 지붕의 물이 흐르는 휴식 공간, 나무 그늘 아래 쉴 수 있는 조경 공간, 진입부의 사용자를 반기는 조경 공간 등 다양한 옥외 공간들이 곳곳에서 자연과 생동한다. 자작나무 정원을 지나고, 마을 한구석 담장을 끼고 찾아 들어 갈 듯한 정겨운 골목같은 지하층 진입부와 1층 마당과 연결되는 부정형의 스탠드식 계단으로 다른 공간으로 이동하는 동선 상의 공간들이 다채롭게 꾸며져 있다. 이렇게 아지트G는 3개의 필지에 각기 다른 기능을 가진 건물들 간 상호소통 속에서 옥외공간을 공유하며 각각의 개성을 더욱 돋보이게 만들고 있다.
