The site of Juk-dong YEHAUS is a combination of two lots of land. There are commercial residential buildings gathered on the opposite side of the frontal road, detached houses on the left and right, and the eastern rear is at the western corner of a detached housing complex that adjoins the mountains.

When planning this building, the matters to consider were; determining the location and size of the interior parking lot and the barbecue area’s volume, how the relatively wide yard will be experienced, and how the level difference between the road as well as the level difference within the site will be utilized.

First, the position of the yard was set to the south corner in order to procure orientation and visibility, and the main building was made to receive the southern light as much as possible by arranging it longways in the north-west side. Furthermore, the parking lot that serves as an entrance was perpendicularly linked, and the barbecue area was attached so that it could be actively experienced with the yard and the water space.

The circulation that leads to the staircase from the main entrance can be seen as the main axis of the entire house, and from the moment of entrance through the front door between the barbecue area and the parking lot to the living room, the yard was made to be slightly exposed but not at one glance.

The exceptional two-story high living room space is the main space of this house, and both the interior and exterior can be viewed from it.

By placing a low wall on the side of the yard, where there is a 1-meter height difference with the main road, privacy was secured. In addition, in order to prevent a sense of oppression from the road as well, the wall was set back inwards from the property line and placed, and by landscaping in-between, a good environment was made to be provided for passersby around the house.

As a result, a border that can be nicely fused with the surrounding environment, which is neither too open nor too closed, was created.

죽동 YEHAUS

죽동 YEHAUS의 대지는 두 필지를 하나로 합친 것으로 전면도로 건너편에는 상가 주택이 모여 있고, 좌우로는 단독주택이, 동쪽 후면은 산에 면해 있는 단독주택 단지의 서측 모서리에 있다.

이 건물을 계획할 당시 고려할 사항은 실내 주차장과 바비큐장 볼륨의 위치와 크기를 정하는 것과 상대적으로 넓은 마당을 어떻게 경험하게 할지, 또, 도로와의 레벨, 대지 내의 레벨 차이를 어떻게 이용하는가였다.

먼저 향과 시야 확보를 위해 마당의 위치를 남측 모서리로 정했고, 메인 건물을 북서측에 길게 배치하여 남향 빛을 최대한 받을 수 있게 하였다. 또, 입구의 역할을 하는 주차장을 직각 방향으로 연결하였고, 바비큐장을 마당과 수공간과 적극 경험할 수 있도록 덧붙여 계획했다.
