Black Rock

The main idea was to create something different and original. Not just a single-family house, but an abstract form. We wanted to create a building that refers to the mountainous area, a house that seems to be a result of tectonics and not design processes. This thought was the starting point of the project and the frame that kept the space composition in check. Therefore, we tried to design and implement the concept of a space by escaping the standards associated with single-family houses. We wanted this house to emeryt like an erratic boulder embedded in a mountain slope, not an architectural form with walls, windows and a roof. "Black Rock" originates from the topography of mountainous terrains. "The Rock" is not a cuboid, a cube or a classic house with a gable roof. It is an abstract multifaceted solid without obvious division into walls and a roof. In the south, the house opens up to the garden, the sun and the view of the Beskids (mountains). The southern wall is high and includes openings such as glazing, terrace and loggia, which provide the panoramic view. The northern facade mostly consists of a roof slope falling to the plot border - the house’s wall is low and closed here.

The plot is situated on the slope of the mountain. It has a clear decline both in the south and east. The initial plan of the house was adjusted to the slope so that the entire ground floor sits on the ground surface. Based on the natural terrain, the horizontal floor plan was broken half way through. As a result, the entrance zone with a garage and supplementary rooms is on a different level from the living room, kitchen and dining room. A half-floor has been created so the entire living area is directly connected with the terrace and garden.

This design process led to the division of floors in the night part of the house (first floor) and as a consequence we created the multi-pitched roof, whose refractions follow the faults resulting from the house’s functional layout in the actual area. Thus, the form of the roof and the body result from the functional design objectives being adapted to the landscape. The building's geometry was built into the topography of the mountain, highly impacting the house’s structure and its final dynamic form.

There is a strong relationship between the building and the surrounding landscape. The external character of the house is formed by its multi-layered form as well as by the material which was used as a packaging of the function. The homogeneous and raw black shell conceals internal spaces and levels. Sharp, jagged boulder, black slate or basalt lump sticking out of the mountain slope, instead of a classic suburban house. The entire creative process was based on the original idea. It became the genesis of the project and was brought through the entire design and construction process, until the end - the implementation of the "Black Rock".

블랙 락

주요 아이디어는 뭔가 다른 독창적인 것을 창조하는 것이었다. 단지 단독 주택이 아닌 추상적인 형태를 만드는 것이었다. 산간 지역을 표현하는 건축물을 짓고 싶었고, 이 집은 디자인 과정이 아닌 텍토닉(tectonics; 구조 지질학)의 결과로 보여주고 싶었다. 이러한 생각은 프로젝트의 출발점이었으며 공간 구성을 위한 틀이었다. 따라서, 단독 주택과 관련된 고정된 기준을 벗어나 공간의 개념을 설계하고 구현하려고 했다. 이 집을 벽, 창문, 지붕을 가진 건축 양식이 아닌 산의 경사면에 묻혀진 불규칙한 바위처럼 짓길 원했다.

이 집은 산악 지대의 지형에서 유래한다. 정육면체의 박공 지붕이 있는 전형적인 형태의 집이 아니라 벽, 지붕과 같은 명확한 구분이 없는 다면체의 추상체이다. 남쪽에는 정원과 태양, 그리고 베스키드(Beskids) 산의 경치가 펼쳐진다. 남쪽의 벽은 높고, 전경을 볼 수 있는 유리, 테라스, 통나무 등의 개구부가 있다. 북쪽 정면은 대부분 대지의 경계선으로 경사진 지붕으로 구성되어 있으며 집의 벽은 낮고 여기서 닫힌다.

대지는 산의 경사면에 위치하고 있다. 남쪽과 동쪽이 모두 경사진 대지이다. 집의 초기 계획은 이러한 대지의 경사면에 맞게 설계되어 집의 1층 전체가 지표면에 위치하도록 되어 있었다. 하지만 자연 지형을 따라 수평적 평면이 중간에 깨지게 됐다. 결과적으로 차고 및 보조방이 있는 출입구는 거실, 주방 및 식당과는 다른 층에 배치되었다. 반 층(half-floor)이 생겨서 전체 생활공간이 테라스 및 정원과 직접 연결되어 있다. 이러한 설계 과정은 집의 야간 부분(1층)의 층을 분할하는 결과를 낳았고, 그 결과 다중 박공 지붕을 만들었다. 그 지붕은 실제 장소의 기능적 배치로 인한 결함을 따른다.

그러므로, 지붕 및 건축물의 형태는 기능 설계 목적이 땅의 지형에 맞게 조정한 결과이다. 건물의 기하학적 형태는 산의 지형 속에서 지어졌고, 집의 구조와 최종적인 동적 형태에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 건물과 주변 풍경 사이에는 강한 관계가 있다. 집의 외부 특성은 다층 형태와 기능의 포장으로 사용된 재료에 의해 형성된다. 균질한 검정색의 원자재 외피는 내부 공간과 층을 숨긴다. 모든 창작 과정은 원래의 아이디어를 기반으로 했다. 그것은 프로젝트의 근원이 되었고 "Black Rock"의 구현까지 전체 설계 및 시공 과정을 거쳤다.

남쪽으로 크게 경사지는 대지에 분리된 단독 주택을 설계했다. 조경계획은 계획한 모든 기능적 특징들로 구성되어 있다. 거실과 2대의 차를 위한 차고뿐만 아니라 1층에는 추가 객실이 있다. 집의 총 면적은 260㎡이다. 건물은 대지의 북쪽면을 따라 위치해 있다. 입구는 대지의 가장자리에서 벗어난 서쪽에 위치해 있으며 대지로의 출입이 용이하고 주차가 편리한 곳에 있다. 남쪽에 있는 대지의 대부분은 미개발로 남아 있다 - 산이 보이는 정원과 테라스가 있다.
