House in Chikusei

This house in Chikusei is a warehouse used by the owner's parents in the past and was created by recycling space. Decided to demolish it, but the owner hoped to reuse it. So we decided to move the warehouse to the ground nearby and remodel this space into a house. The structure of the old warehouse is reflected in the newly built house. A warehouse is usually a dark and closed building where things are stored. The architect had to make the warehouse an open building that could interact with the surrounding environment to make it a living space. While dealing with the "time" accumulated in the warehouse as a modern architectural issue, it was built like a renovated space that has been here for a long time. It is a form of interaction between the continuous flow of time and human life.

지쿠세이(Chikusei)의 이 집은 예전에 건축주의 부모님이 사용하던 창고로, 공간을 재활용하여 만들어진 곳이다. 철거를 결정했지만, 건축주는 이곳을 재사용하기를 바랐다. 그래서 창고를 근처에 땅에 옮기고 이 공간은 주택으로 리모델링하기로 했다. 옛 창고의 구조는 새롭게 지어진 주택에 반영되어 있다. 창고는 일반적으로 물건을 보관하는 건물로서 어둡고 폐쇄적이다. 건축가는 창고를 거주공간으로 만들기 위해 주변 환경과 교류할 수 있는 개방된 건물로 만들어야 했다. 창고에 축적된 ‘시간’을 현대적인 건축 이슈로 다루면서도, 오랫동안 이 자리에 있던, 개축된 공간처럼 지었다. 시간의 연속적인 흐름과 인간의 삶 사이의 상호작용으로 나타난 한 형태다.
