GREEN BUILDING

While being involved as a designer, I felt a sense of problem in the unique pocket park or walking space without street trees that appeared in Shijo-street. Shijo Street is required to be overhauled in the district plan to match Kyoto's central commercial and business district. To induce new landscape standards, the architecture 'surrounded by green space' was conceived. First of all, we assumed the familiarity of green areas that people have since birth. The idea is to create a highly visual-induced rental building that attracts people to green areas and uses the familiarity. As a result, the green facade will naturally catch people's eyes without strong arguments, unlike the signboards regulated by the ordinance.

This visual induction of architecture has been demonstrated using the "Occupancy Measuring Device" and a rental building that naturally attracts people to "surrounded by green" on a street full of various buildings. The thermal island phenomenon is inhibited by the energy saving of buildings by the soil of rooftops and by the increasing production of plants. The topographic roof forms a variety of spaces and functions as a street pocket park, with a square overlooking the "temperature accumulation" and a terrace on the rooftop, which becomes a face-to-face classroom. The "spread green" should never wither. The plant base of the wall is double nonwoven fabric. It makes a pocket by inserting a cut into the surface's non-woven fabric, and enhances its moisturizing function by covering it with dirt.

The size and distribution of the pouch are controlled so that it is a growing environment suitable for the plant. There are 41 kinds of plants on the wall, and among the walls, weather conditions and location conditions are considered. The Green Building, located on Shijo Street in Kyoto, is adjacent to Arcade. Under the arcade, there was not much sunlight, so the place was planted with soundproof plants and made into a clear green space despite the shade. The upper part, which is difficult to maintain, is designed to maintain the color of the wall for a long time by placing suitable plants.

그린 빌딩

본 프로젝트를 시작하면서, 시죠 거리에서 나타나는 특유의 포켓 파크나 가로수가 없는 보행 공간에 문제의식을 느꼈다. 시죠 거리는 당시, 지구계획에서 교토의 중심적인 상업&업무지구인 중심거리에 어울릴만한 정비작업이 필요했다. 작업은 새로운 경관 기준을 유도하기 위해 ‘녹지에 둘러싸인’ 공간을 구현하여 사람이 태어나서부터 가지는 녹지에 대한 친근감을 건축물에 반영하고자 했다. 이 친근감은 자연에 끌리는 시각적 유도로 구현했다. 그 결과 녹지 파사드는 조례로 규제되는 간판과 달리 자연스럽게 시선을 사로잡았고, 이 시각적 유도를 “주시점 계측 장치”로 실증할 수 있었다.

다양한 빌딩이 즐비한 거리에서 “녹지에 둘러싸인” 공간으로 사람을 자연스럽게 끌어당기며, “주시점 계측 장치"에 의해 건물은 부가가치를 갖고, 간판 광고비는 불필요해져 녹화유지비로 전환됐다. 녹지에 둘러싸인 파사드에서 옥상에 이르는 파사드의 이 녹화 벽면은 대로에 면한 공간의 녹화도 선도한다. 옥상의 토양은 건물의 에너지를 절약할 수 있도록 만들고, 식물의 증산작용으로 열섬현상을 막는다. 지형적으로 융기된 지붕은 다양한 공간을 형성하고 “기온 축제”를 바라보는 광장, 대면 교실이 되는 옥상의 테라스가 거리의 작은 공원역할을 한다. 녹화벽면은 시들지 않도록, 벽면의 식재 기반은 이중 부직포로 만들어졌다. 표면의 부직포에 칼집을 넣어 포켓을 만들고, 흙으로 감싸는 것으로 보습 기능을 높인다.

주머니의 크기와 분포를 조절하여 식물에 맞는 생육환경이 되도록 제어한다. 벽면에는 총 41종의 식물이 있으며 벽면 중에서도 위치에 따라 미세하게 다른 기후조건과 입지 조건 등이 고려되어 배치됐다. 그린 빌딩은 교토의 시죠 거리에 면한 상가에 위치해, 아케이드에 접한다. 아케이드 아래는 햇볕이 잘 들지 않아 이곳에는 내음성이 있는 식물을 심고, 그늘에도 불구하고 선명한 녹화 공간으로 만들었다. 유지보수가 어려운 상부는 적합한 식물을 배치해 색색의 벽면 녹화가 오래도록 유지되도록 설계했다.
