Torto House is a contemporary project, whose work is prefabricated and sustainable. We wanted to show a brutalist architecture, with natural and apparent materials, without giving up sophistication and comfort. Basically we have the materials: steel, glass, wood, concrete on the floor, exposed ecological brick, drywall and joinery. A clean work in terms of work and materials, without the use of superfluous coverings or props.

The client’s desire was for a house built in a steel structure with the use of prefabricated elements, in order to obtain a quick work without wasting materials and with integrated spaces. The site with an area of 360m² and a slope of more than 5m high guided the development of the project on two levels. On the 1st floor there is a garage and cafe. On the upper floor, accommodated at the middle level of the site, this is where the residence actually takes place.

The project was elaborated in steel structure, allowing lightness to the structure; cover in thermoacoustic; external closings in glass and soil-cement brick. The soil-cement brick is a modular type of masonry produced with clay, cement and aggregates and dried in the sun, without the need for burning and emitting carbon dioxide at atmosphere. The internal partitions were all executed in drywall, thus allowing agility in the execution of the work and consequently avoiding waste materials. The plan was developed in a U-shape, to allow the entry of light and ventilation in all social environments. The access of the residence is through an external hall with a concrete staircase surrounding a tree protected laterally by the steel structure. The facade of the house is positioned on the southwestern side, which is why it received wooden brises that work as sun and visual protection, giving privacy.

On the upper floor, the swimming pool is the heart of the house, between the gourmet area and the integrated space where we have a living room and kitchen, integrating all the social spaces in the house and functioning as a nucleus of family activities. We have a glass corridor where we can find the service areas of the house - laundry, pantry and toilet, all with camouflaged doors in slatted wood panel. This corridor connects the front of the residence, where the gourmet area is located to the rear of the house. The intimate area is located at the back of the site, providing greater privacy to residents, where are the couple’s suite and the children’s rooms.

나무 루버가 거실을 보호하는 조립식 주택, 토르토 하우스

토르토 하우스는 조립식으로 생산된, 지속 가능한 프로젝트다. 건축가는 브루털리즘 건축에 정교함과 편안함을 포기하지 않으며 자연적이고, 분명한 재료들을 사용하는 것을 보여주고자 했다. 기본적으로 자재는 철재, 유리, 목재를 사용했고, 바닥에는 콘크리트, 노출된 생태 벽돌, 석고판, 그리고 작은 목공 작품들을 갖고 있었다. 불필요한 덮개나 버팀목을 사용하지 않아 시공과 재료의 측면에서 군더더기 없는 작업이었다.

건축주의 바람은 통합된 공간들과 함께 재료를 낭비하지 않고 신속한 작업성을 위해 조립식 요소들의 사용과 함께 철재 구조로 집을 짓는 것이었다. 360m²의 영역과 높이차가 5m가 넘는 경사가 있는 대지는 본 프로젝트를 두 개의 층으로 계획하도록 이끌었다. 1층에는 차고와 카페가 있고, 실제로 주거가 이뤄지는 위층은 대지의 중간 높이에 자리 잡았다. 이 집는 철골 구조로 지어졌으며, 열음향(Thermoacoustic)으로 덮어 가벼움을 부여했다. 외부 폐쇄구에는 유리와 시멘트 벽돌이 사용되었다. 시멘트 벽돌은 석조 공사의 모듈로 점토, 시멘트, 골재로 만들어져서 이산화탄소를 태우거나 공기에 방출시킬 필요없이 햇빛에 건조된다. 내부 파티션들은 모두 건식 벽으로 만들어졌으며, 이를 통해 작업의 실행에 민첩성이 좋아지고 결론적으로 재료 낭비를 막아주었다. 평면은 빛의 출입과 통풍을 위해 U자 형태로 계획됐다. 주거 공간으로의 접근은 나무 둘러싼 콘크리트 계단이 있는 외부 홀을 통해 가능하다. 집의 정면은 남서쪽으로 향하고 있다. 이는 나무 루버를 이용하여 차양과 프라이버시를 보호하는 역할을 한다.

상층의 수영장은 거실과 부엌을 잇는 통합된 공간 사이에 위치한 집의 중심이며, 집의 모든 공공 공간들을 통합시키고 가족 활동의 핵심으로 기능한다. 또한, 세탁실, 팬트리, 화장실과 같은 모든 서비스 영역은 작은 나무 패널을 조합하여 만든 감춰진 문이 설치되어 있고, 유리로 된 복도에 배치되어 있다. 이 복도는 고급 주방 영역이 집의 뒤편에 위치한 주거의 현관과 연결된다. 부부 침실과 자녀들의 방과 같은 사적인 영역은 대지의 뒤편에 배치됐으며, 거주자들에게 더 높은 프라이버시를 제공한다.
