VIERTEL ZWEI IN VIENNA

Two towers in the heart of the Vienna Prater park The project won the international architecture competition for the construction of two multifunctional towers in the Viertel Zwei district of Vienna, which in recent years has been characterized by significant and vibrant urban development.

The design team has devised two towers with heterogeneous architectural languages and marked personalities, capable of composing a complex urban image that is at the same time organically inserted into the context. The towers have a height of about 120m and 90m. Both buildings are able to offer ideal spaces to live and work with very high quality standards. The lower tower, for residential use, has been conceived as a vertical extension of the existing area and of the large Prater park with the aim of establishing a relationship of continuity that is not only visual but above all qualitative between nature and built space. The tertiary tower was instead designed as an iconic building, designed to emerge from its context, characterized by an organic and tapered geometry that enhances its verticality.

Having to accommodate work spaces and services, the layout of the floors and the facade system have been designed to optimize the access of natural light inside the rooms, minimizing at the same time the phenomena of glare and overheating.

비엔나의 피어텔 쯔바이 수직빌딩

비엔나 프레이터 공원 중심에 위치한 두 개의 타워 두 개의 수직빌딩은 비엔나의 피어텔 쯔바이 구역 내에 세워질 두 개의 다기능 건물로 도시개발 프로젝트 중 일부다. 설계안은 국제건축설계 공모에서 당선된 작품이다. 마리오 쿠치넬라 스튜디오의 공모팀은 다양한 종류의 건축적 방법들과 이곳만의 맥락 속에서 유기적으로 삽입되는 건축물로서 복합적인 도심의 이미지를 구성하고자 했다. 이런 노력으로 뚜렷한 특징을 가진두 개의 수직 빌딩을 창안해냈다.

건축물은 약 120m와 90m의 높이이며, 두 건물은 모두 매우 높은 주거환경 기준을 가지고 있어, 거주하거나 일하기에 이상적인 공간들을 제공한다. 주거 목적인 낮은 건물은 자연과 건설된 공간 사이에서 시각적인 것뿐 아닌, 그 이상의 모든 질적인 것들의 연속 관계를 세운다. 기존 영역과 거대한 프레이터 공원의 수직적 연장으로 이해할 수 있다. 다른 타워는 대신 아이코닉한 건물로, 눈에 띄는 형태를 가진다. 건물은 그 수직성을 향상 시켜주는 유기적이고 폭이 점점 좁아지는 기하학적 구조다. 사무 공간과 서비스 공간을 수용해야 하기 때문에 층의 배치과 파사드 설계에서 자연광을 실 내부로 끌어들이고, 직사광선은 최소화하도록 설계됐다.
