The site is located a short distance from Suseongmot Lake, the representative resting place of Suseong-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City and it has an acute angle as well as an amorphous shape, and stretches from the south to the north. Based on the road at the north side of the site, it was made to face Suseongmot Lake, and a parking space for building users was arranged to the south.

By using a soft curve at the north roadside, where the shape of the land is sharp and long, it was made as a voluminous building even though the scale is small. The owner wanted to combine two lots as well as satisfy the maximum legal floor space index, and commissioned retail rental spaces on the first to third floors and working spaces on the fourth and fifth floors.

Based on the given scale and the owner’s requirements, the first and second floors were made to achieve awareness and accessibility of the north road as well as allow visitors to enter and exit, and by separating the circulation of the building users with the placement of exterior stairs, a more pleasant space was aimed to be created.

The mass was naturally divided by floors and uses, and windows were morphologically and functionally placed to part of each mass for good lighting. The other small mass was planned as a form that harmonizes with the upper floors using round pillars. An architecture can change the urban landscape as well as the atmosphere of the surrounding. We hope the building’s uesers feel as a convenient and pleasant in the space.

MK빌딩

대지는 대구광역시 수성구의 대표적인 휴식처인 수성못에서 조금 떨어진 곳에 있으며, 대지 형태는 부정형 예각으로, 남북 방향으로 긴 형태다. 대지의 북측 도로를 기준으로 수성못을 향해 바라보는 형태가 되도록 하고, 남측으로는 건물 이용자들의 주차공간을 배치했다. 땅의 모양이 뾰족하면서 긴 북측 도로 면에는 부드러운 곡선을 사용함으로써 작은 규모지만 볼륨감 있는 건축물이 되도록 했다. 두 필지를 합필하여, 최대 법적 용적률을 만족하면서 1~3층은 상가 임대공간과 4, 5층은 업무를 위한 공간으로 계획됐다.

주어진 규모와 건축주의 요구사항을 바탕으로 1층, 2층은 북측 도로의 인지성과, 접근성, 외부인의 출입이 이루어지도록 하고, 외부 계단의 배치를 통해 건물 이용자들의 동선을 분리하여, 조금 더 쾌적한 공간을 만들고자 했다. 각 층별, 용도별로 나누어 자연스럽게 매스를 분절하고, 각 매스의 부분은 채광이 잘 되도록 형태적, 기능적으로 창을 내고, 작은 또 다른 하나의 매스는 둥근 기둥을 사용하여 상부층과 어울리는 형태가 되도록 계획했다. 하나의 건축물이 도시 경관과 그 주변의 분위기를 바꿀 수 있다. 건물 이용자들에게 조금 더 편리하고, 쾌적한 공간으로 느껴지길 바란다.
