Unbounded Space

This project is an apartment built with the theme of “Ideal Living Unit of Future”. Using digital materials to break the physical boundary and using the digital images as the connection with different dimensions to achieve the elegant fusion of Screen Wall and Wall Transparent was the starting point of design. 

Inside this residential unit, four screens of different sizes are respectively embedded into three wall surfaces. They set different content themes for the four screens. For example, three of the screens play Paris Live, NASA's 24-hour live broadcast and local TV content in Beijing, so that the residents can feel different time situations through the different screens. It is make people enrich emotional experience. The screens, displays and light boxes are arranged in a unique way, breaking the fixed feeling of traditional solid space boundary and forms an irregular Screen Wall. They used Dupont Tyvek paper to naturally blend the windows, light boxes and displays together to form a new multimedia Perspective the Wall. Digital content will bring about the perfection of function and the optimization of experience for the space, making the space full of dynamic flexibility and interest., creating a warm, comfortable atmosphere and an elegant living environment looking towards future.

경계없는 공간

본 프로젝트는“ 이상적인 미래의 주거 유닛”을 주제로 설계된 아파트이다. 스크린 벽과 투명 벽의 우아한 조화를 위해서 물리적 경계를 허물기 위한 디지털 매체 사용과 다른 차원들의 연결 통로로 디지털 이미지를 사용한 것이 디자인의 출발점이었다.

내부에는 서로 다른 크기의 스크린 4개가 서로 다른 테마를 가지고 3개의 벽에 내장되어 있다. 예를 들어, 세 개의 스크린은 파리 라이브, 나사의 24시간 라이브 방송, 그리고 베이징 지역 TV 방송을 방영하고 있어, 거주자들이 서로 다른 스크린을 통해 다른 시간적 상황들을 느낌으로써 감정적 경험을 풍부하게 해준다. 스크린, 디스플레이, 그리고 라이트 박스들은 독특한 방식으로 배치되어 있으며, 이들은 전통적인 솔리드 공간의 진부한 느낌을 깨면서 불규칙한 스크린 벽을 형성한다. 새로운 멀티미디어 관점의 벽 형성을 목적으로 듀퐁 타이베크 종이를 사용하여 창문, 라이트 박스, 디스플레이를 함께 어우러지게 하였다. 콘텐츠는 공간을 역동적 유연성과 흥미로 가득 차게 만들고, 따듯하고 편안한 분위기와 미래 지향적인 생활 환경을 조성하면서 기능의 완벽성과 공간 경험의 최적화를 실현할 것이다.
