Close to Bloemendaal, on the edge of the Kennemer dunes, the site of Villa Bloemendaal is situated. A sustainable home that follows a minimalistic design and shows respect for man and nature alike, in a unique residential area where the existing flora and fauna are given full rein.

i29 interior architects worked on the interior of a villa which was designed by Paul de Ruiter architects. From the very start it was clear that the landscape around the villa should be preserved as much as possible. A basement was created for the house and the ground floor is semi-positioned in the slope of the hill. The first floor towers above the partially glazed ground floor and the undulating dune landscape. Both the northerly and southerly facades of the first floor are largely made of glass, while the easterly and westerly facades have a more closed character.

Special attention is devoted to use of energy. An efficient and compact structure has been designed with excellent insulation. The available energy is used effectively, there is geothermal energy storage, a heat pump and solar collectors on the roof, which is covered with moss sedum. A minimal approach to the materialisation and detailing of the building is a core value of both the interior and exterior design. The large expanses of glass and the patio result in maximum daylighting and give the inhabitants the feeling that the villa and the surrounding landscape are one.

In order to bring nature inside even more, all of the interior functions in the house are made from natural materials. i29 interior architects created large surfaces of wood through the whole house to connect the different areas. Cabinets, wardrobes, walls, sliding doors, beds and even a fire place have been made in one and the same material. Pine wood panels -normally a basic material- has been used as a high end finishing with fine details.

블로이멘달의 빌라, 홈 09

네덜란드 블로이멘달의 켄네메르 사구 가장자리에 빌라 블로이멘달, 홈 09가 위치해있다. 기존의 식물과 동물같은 자연요소가 풍부한 독특한 주거지역에서 미니멀한 디자인을 따르고 인간과 자연에 대한 존경을 동시에 보여주는 지속 가능한 주택이다.

i29의 디자이너들은 폴 드 뤼터의 건축가들이 디자인한 별장의 인테리어를 작업했다. 프로젝트의 초기부터 별장 주변의 풍경을 최대한 보존해야 한다는 목표를 분명히 했다. 그 집을 위한 지하실이 만들어졌고, 1층은 언덕의 경사면에 반반으로 나뉘어 배치되었다. 1층은 부분적으로 유리를 바른 실과 기복이 심한 사구의 풍경 위로 탑이 세워져 있다. 1층의 북측과 남측 입면은 모두 큰 유리창으로 이뤄져 있는 반면 동측과 서측은 폐쇄적인 성격을 띄고 있다.

에너지의 사용에 각별한 주의를 기울였다. 효율적이고 컴팩트한 구조로 우수한 단열재로 설계되었다. 이용 가능한 에너지는 효과적으로 사용하고, 지붕의 지열 에너지 장치, 열 펌프, 태양영 집열기가 에너지를 모은다. 건물의 재료와 디테일에 대해 내부 및 외부 설계의 핵심 가치를 최소한 지키고자 했다. 큰 폭의 유리와 파티오는 최대한의 햇빛을 받으며 주민들에게 별장과 부젼 경관이 하나라는 느낌을 준다.

자연을 한층 더 안으로 들여오기 위해 집안의 내부 기능은 모두 천연 재료로 만들어졌다. 디자이너들은 다른 공간들을 연결하기 위해 집 전체를 통해 나무의 큰 표면을 만들었다. 캐비닛, 옷장, 벽, 미닫이 문, 침대, 심지어 화기를 사용하는 공간가지 같은 재료로 만들어졌다. 소나무 목재 패널은 미세한 디테일로 고급마감재로서 사용됐다.
