SEO-MYEON PASSIVE HOUSE

It was about 30 years ago, that apartment culture began in earnest in Suncheon, a small town in the province. Apartments are now representative of the housing culture, but almost all of the houses were single-family houses 30 years ago. Many people who lived in single-family houses before apartment culture still seem to think of homes that were hot in summer, drafty in winter, and moldy in winter.

The project is to build a new house on the site that has a gradient of about 4m to the south. There were not many architectural requirements, but I asked them carefully how it would be like to build a Passive House. When I explained in detail to the client about the Passive House, which allows him to lead a pleasant living while reducing energy use, He agreed to it therefore I started to plan the house as Passive House.

Using a 4m slope, organize the basement floor with a yard, 2 stories height of living room, kitchen and room on the first floor, and place the bedroom and a machine(heat recovery equipment) room on the second floor. As a result, the client who spent the winter and summer is now the preacher of Passive House in Germany, although it was completed as a low-energy house that fell short of the 1.5L standard of Passive House in German Standard, tells prospective builders that houses must be built as Passive House. In order to leave a good natural environment for our future generations, it seems necessary to reduce reckless energy use.

서면 저에너지 하우스

지방의 소도시인 순천에 아파트 문화가 본격적으로 시작된 것은 30년 전쯤이다. 지금은 아파트가 주택문화의 대표가 되었지만 30년 전만 해도 거의 모든 주택들이 단독주택이었다. 아파트 문화 이전에 주택에 살았던 많은 사람들은 아직도 단독주택하면 여름에는 덥고, 겨울에는 외풍이 있고 추운, 곰팡이가 많이 발생했던 주택을 생각하는 사람이 많은 것 같다.

이 프로젝트는 남향으로 4m 정도 경사도를 갖는 대지에 주택을 신축하는 것이다. 건축주의 요구 사항은 많지 않았지만, 조심스럽게 패시브하우스 건축을 해보는 건 어떤지 물었다. 건축주에게 에너지 사용을 줄이면서 쾌적한 주거 생활을 할 수 있는 패시브하우스에 대해서 자세하게 설명했더니 건축주는 흔쾌히 승낙했다.

4m 경사를 이용하여 전면에는 마당이 있는 지하층을 구성하고, 1층에는 2개 층의 높이를 갖는 거실과 주방 및 침실, 2층에는 침실과 기계실(열회수 환기장치) 등을 설치했다. 결과적으로 독일 패시브협회의 패시브하우스의 기준인 1.5L의 기준에는 미치지 못한 저에너지 하우스로 완성됐지만 겨울과 여름을 보낸 건축주는 지금은 패시브하우스의 전도사가 되어 주택은 반드시 패시브하우스로 지어야 한다고 예비 건축주들에게 말한다. 우리 후손들에게 좋은 자연환경을 남겨 주기 위해서는 무분별한 에너지 사용을 줄이는 게 필요할 듯싶다.
