바르셀로나에 기반을 둔 젊은 건축 스튜디오인 H3o 아키텍츠는 2023년 9월 바르셀로나에 가장 특별하고 특이한 주거 프로젝트 중 하나인 릴람파고 하우스를 선보인다. 산 저스트 데스번에 위치한 바르셀로나 외곽의 전통적인 카탈루냐 농가 내에 있는 55㎡ 규모의 소박한 오래된 헛간을 개조함으로써 색이 가득한 독특한 공간이 생겨났고, 이는 이곳을 방문하는 사람들에게 그들만의 기억에 남는 이야기를 들려준다. 창조성과 예술에 대한 열정을 가진 역사학자인 그 소유자의 욕망에 이끌려, 그 프로젝트는 수년 전에 캔 카르도나를 건넜던 번개의 전설을 출발점으로 삼는다. 그 건축가들은 고객의 예술적인 흥미를 자극할 기능적이지만 대담한 디자인으로 이 영감을 묘사하기를 원했다.

 

집 이름인 릴람파고는 스페인어로 번개를 의미하며, 이는 집에 역사적 의미가 있는 자연 현상에 대한 이야기를 암시한다. 맞배지붕의 이 집은 집 안에서 구별되는 영역을 정의하고 묘사하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 하는 번개를 중심 요소로 한다. 번개가 벽과 램프로 바뀌면 내부 공간의 기능을 신속하게 형성하고 구성한다. "릴람파고 하우스는 판타지를 통해 접근한 형태와 색상이라는 공간 탐험에서 우리의 큰 관심사 중 하나에 대해 이야기하는 프로젝트입니다. 우리는 수년 전 집을 강타했던 번개의 놀라운 이야기를 디자인의 시작점으로 사용했습니다."라고 h3o 아키텍츠의 아드리아 오리올즈, 조안 제너 및 미켈 리즈는 말했다.

 

이번 개조를을 통해 스튜디오의 주요 의도는 기존의 밋밋한 인테리어에서 벗어난 독특한 건축 경험을 창출하는 것이다. 독특한 컨셉과 아이덴티티로 가득 찬 혁신적인 건축물을 결합함으로써 기하학, 재료 및 색상을 결합한 제안으로 이어져 공간 사이의 유동성이 주인공으로 서 있는 자극적인 인테리어에 생명력과 형태를 부여한다. 지그재그 형태의 분포는 집의 다양한 영역을 형성한다. 프로젝트는 사용자를 놀라게 하는 시각적, 공간적 효과를 창출하며, 서로 흐르고 섞이는 선과 각진 기하학으로 구성된 독특한 형태를 가지고 있다. 또한 집의 다양한 표면에 전략적으로 적용된 선명한 색상의 광범위한 범위는 공간을 구별하고 통일할 뿐만 아니라 모양과 부피를 강조할 수 있게 한다. 이러한 색각적 선택은 사용자의 일상적인 공간 인식에 도전하는 분위기를 조성하며, 공간을 변화시키는 감각과 기억으로 가는 길을 열어준다. 릴람파고 하우스는 전통적인 가정의 개념을 뛰어넘는다. 진정한 서사를 통해 예술에 대한 열정을 기념함으로써 창의성과 독창성이 일상의 본질인 일상의 다른 비전을 소개하고자 한다.

Barcelona, September 2023. H3o Architects, a young architecture studio based in Barcelona, presents Relámpago House, one of its most special and unusual residential projects.  The renovation of a modest 55m2 old barn within a traditional Catalan farmhouse on the outskirts of Barcelona, situated in Sant Just Desvern, has given rise to a distinctive space full of color, which tells its own memorable story to those who visit it. Driven by the desires of its owner, a historian with a passion for creativity and art, the project takes as starting point, the legend of the lightning that crossed Can Cardona many years ago. The architects wanted to depict this inspiration in a functional yet bold design that would stimulate the client's artistic interest.

 

Relámpago, the name of the house, is Spanish for lightning, alluding to the story about the natural phenomenon that holds historical significance for the property. The gable-roofed house features lightning as a central element, playing a key role in defining and delineating distinct areas within the house. When lightning is transformed into both a wall and a lamp, it promptly shapes and configures the functionality of the interior spaces. “Relampago House is a project that speaks of one of our great concerns in spatial exploration: morphology and colour approached through fantasy. We used the incredible story of a lightning that struck the house years ago as a starting point for the design", say Adrià Orriols, Joan Gener and Miquel Ruiz of h3o Architects.

 

With this renovation, the studio's main intention is to generate a unique architectural experience that departs from conventional bland interiors. By combining an outbreaking architecture with a highly distinctive concept, brimming with identity, it results in a proposal that merges geometries, materials and colours, giving life and shape to a stimulating interior where fluidity between spaces stand as protagonist. A zigzagging distribution shapes the different areas of the house. With a distinctive morphology composed of lines and angular geometries that flow and blend with each other, the project creates a visual and spatial effect that amazes the user. Furthermore, the wide range of strategically applied vibrant colors on the different surfaces of the house allows both to highlight shapes and volumes, as well as distinguish and unify spaces. This chromatic choice creates an atmosphere that challenges the usual spatial perception of the user and, in combination with a series of small, seemingly out-of-context stone elements, opens the way to sensations and memories that transform the space. Relámpago House transcends the conventional notion of home. By celebrating a passion for the arts through an authentic narrative, it aims to introduce a different vision of everyday life, where creativity and originality are the essence of each day.
