Cheongkim Confectionery is a bakery where the son reinterprets his mother's confectionery recipe in his own way and sells it. My mother, who studied abroad in Japan to learn baking, returned to Korea and felt small happiness by presenting cheesecake and cookies made by herself to her acquaintances. The client (son) who grew up watching and eating it wanted to share these pleasant experiences with more people.

There have been many changes in bakeries for a long time. A long time ago, in my mother's time, it was a place to visit occasionally for special occasions or anniversaries, and the way the store operated was also important to display luxurious products and the atmosphere. On the other hand, the current confectionery has become a replacement for stocks or snacks in daily life, and it is changing to a transparent operation that shows the process of making because it emphasizes value and essence by working on good ingredients and manufacturing methods.

We wanted to collect the value of these period-specific bakeries and convey the special sincerity and the value of the manufacturing process in the bread to our customers through various visual fun. We tried to apply the different situations and methods that occur when we observe something to space, and we solved them through three visual methods, out-of-focus, visual contrast, and gaze that flows toward movement.

The space is largely composed of fa,ade, piloti, and interior. The four existing architectural pillars were connected in a new form to create an open fasade, and the open elevation shape was more clearly revealed through the light inside in the evening, creating a visual contrast.

Some open piloti spaces naturally lead to the interior, providing room for purchase and stay, where free-moving guests catch the eye. The deepest kitchen windows in the space blur out everything else so that you can focus on the bread making process.

In this way, the project was carried out with a big direction of being a bakery where various people in the neighborhood can come and go without any burden by spatially releasing various perspectives from the outside to the store.

청킴제과는 아들이 어머니의 제과 레시피를 자신만의 방법으로 재해석하여 만들어 판매하는 제과점입니다.
제과제빵을 배우기 위해 일본 유학 생활을 하신 어머니는 한국에 돌아와 지인들에게 직접 만든 치즈케이크와 쿠키를 선물하며 소소한 행복함 느끼셨다고 합니다. 그것을 보고 먹으며 자라온 클라이언트(아들)는 이러한 기분 좋은 경험들을 더 많은 사람들과 공유하고 싶어 했습니다.

오랫동안 제과점은 많은 변화가 있었습니다. 오래전 어머니가 살던 시대에는 특별한 날이나 기념일을 위해 가끔씩 들리는 장소로 매장의 운영 방식 또한 고급스러운 상품의 진열 방식과 분위기를 중요하게 생각했습니다. 반면에 현재의 제과는 일상 속에서 주식을 대체하거나 간식으로도 즐기게 되었고, 좋은 재료 사용과 제조 방식에 공을 들이며 가치와 본질을 중시하기 때문에 만드는 과정을 투명하게 보여주는 운영방식으로 변화하고 있습니다.

우리는 이러한 시대별 제과점의 가치를 모아 빵에 담겨있는 각별한 정성과 제조 과정의 가치를 다양한 시각적 재미를 통해 손님에게 전달하고 싶었습니다. 무언가를 관찰할 때 발생하는 여러 상황이나 방식을 공간에 적용하고자 했고, 여러 방식들 중 아웃 포커스 / 시각적 대비 / 움직임을 향해 흐르는 시선이라는 세 가지 시각적 방식을 통해 풀어나갔습니다.

공간은 크게 파사드, 필로티, 실내로 구성되어 있습니다. 기존에 있던 4개의 건축 기둥을 새로운 형태로 연결하여 열린 파사드를 만들었고, 열려있는 입면의 형태는 저녁이 되면 내부의 빛을 통해 더욱 뚜렷하게 드러나 시각적 대비를 만들어 냅니다.

일부 개방된 필로티 공간은 내부로 자연스럽게 이어져 구매와 머무를 수 있는 공간을 제공하고, 여기서 자유로이 움직이는 손님들은 다른 사람의 시선을 사로잡습니다. 공간에서 가장 깊숙한 주방의 창은 빵의 제조 과정을 집중하여 볼 수 있도록 그 이외의 것은 흐릿하게 보여줍니다.

이렇게 외부에서부터 가게로 들어오기까지 다양한 시각의 초점을 공간적으로 풀어내고, 동네의 여러 사람들이 부담 없이 오갈 수 있는 제과점이라는 큰 방향성을 두고 프로젝트를 진행하였습니다.
