Y-HOUSE is a living base and sphere of the activity for the scenarist couple, and it’s keyword was to interpret both of personal activity and work activity. The part which divides two functions, and makes a communication is an exterior nature element which carves in Y-HOUSE’s separated corridor and interior. A corridor which breaks in an acute angle makes a flow longer, and becomes a space of thinking. It becomes the only space which interferes scenarist the owner’s daily life with exterior stimulation.

The design elements which are privacy, and community arrange a conventional house function to the left side of the acute window which interpenetrates to the inside, and a studio for couple scenarists to the right side as a creative activity space. An over bridge on the 2nd floor takes the function of diluting personal and public areas, and this is a subtle compromise space where the exterior nature comes and touches body. As a country house, it takes a role of a lively refreshing bridge.

A living room which seems pretty closed from the frontal road shows a flowing landscape through the south-eastern window. As time goes by, the changing landscape outside the window is an element which continuously communes with the users. The backside of the building has opened to the park, and directs star world’s scenery. Y-HOUSE is a place which guides to a road to the oriental meditation of life and creation.

와이 하우스

와이하우스는 부부 시나리오 작가의 생활터전이자 활동의 무대로 사적활동과 작업 활동을 모두 해석하는 것이 키워드였다. 이러한 두 가지 기능을 분리하며, 소통시키는 부분이 와이 하우스의 갈라진 복도와 내부로 파고드는 외부의 자연 요소다. 예각으로 분절되는 복도는 동선을 길게 만들고 사유하는 공간이 되고, 유일하게 건축주인 작가의 일상에 외부 자극으로 간섭하는 공간이 된다.

프라이버시와 커뮤니티라는 설계 요소는 내부로 관입된 예각 창을 좌측으로 통상의 주택 기능을, 우측으로는 창조적 활동공간으로 부부 작가의 스튜디오를 배치했다. 2층의 구름다리는 서로 다른 두 개의 영역을 희석시키는 역할을 하며, 바로 외부 자연이 몸에 와닿는 절묘한 절충공간인 것이다. 전원주택으로서 생명력이 넘치는 재충전 교량의 역할을 하는 것이다.

전면 도로 측에서 다소 폐쇄된 표정의 거실은 남동향의 창이 흐르는 풍경을 보여준다. 시간에 흐름에 따라 변화하는 창 밖 풍경들은 사용자와 끊임없이 교감하는 요소다. 건물의 배면은 공원에 개방되어 별세계의 풍광을 연출한다. 와이하우스는 삶과 창조의 동양적 명상 공간의 길목으로 안내하는 곳이다.
