The Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre(ICC) in Hull officially opened on Friday 6th July 2018 during the week the NHS celebrates its 70th birthday. This innovative new facility, the first of its type in the UK, is set to transform care for older people in Hull by providing out of hospital care, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, bling residents to keep fit, healthy and living independently in their own homes.
In a new and unique approach to health and care, the groundbreaking services and new clinically led team will primarily treat 12,000 frail older people in Hull with long term conditions who have been assessed by their GP as being at risk of hospital admission.
The Centre has a comprehensive specialist team including Older People’s Consultants/Geriatricians, Advance Nurse Practitioners, GPs, Pharmacists, Therapists, Social Workers and the voluntary sector. There are diagnostics at the centre enabling the team to undertake blood tests, x-rays and in the future CT scans. The centre, which sits on the site of the former David Lister School in East Hull, has been open since May 2018.
In the longer term the aim is to reduce unplanned admissions by up to 20%. This has been forecasted to save the NHS up to £5.8 million, which the CCG says it could then reinvest in new services. Humberside Fire and Rescue also has an operational fire station on site and provide a falls response team as well as responding to other fire and rescue incidents. Discussions are underway to explore the crews also supporting rehabilitation and recovery of patients.
The ICC is the first capital project to be completed since the Health and Social Care Act came into force in 2012. The overall design concept is for a therapeutic and welcoming heart to the building at the point of arrival, with clear way-finding and open and transparent views to landscape, designed as much for the well-being of patients as it is for the staff and visitors. The three services of Rapid Assessment (RA), Health Hub and Therapies are laid out in two main building wings linked by common shared spaces.
The RA accommodation is in the west wing, with the Health Hub and Therapies in the east wing with office accommodation above. The Fire and Rescue Service has been integrated into the scheme, with services at the south-eastern corner of the site.

진 비숍 통합 진료센터 영국 킹스턴어폰헐(Hull)에 위치한 진 비숍 통합 진료센터(ICC)는 2018년 7월에 공식 개원했다. 새로운 진 비숍 통합 진료센터는 영국에서 시도한 새로운 형태의 병원 시설이기도 하다. 이 지역의 노인들은 이 센터를 통해 진료를 받을 수 있으며, 진료를 통해 불필요한 병원비를 줄이고, 지역 주민들이 건강하고, 독립적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 만드는 것이 센터의 목표이다. 건강관리에 대한 새롭고 독특한 접근방식을 통하여 진 비숍 센터는 획기적인 의료 서비스와 새로운 의료진으로 지역보건정보(GP)에 의해 병원료를 내기 어려운 것으로 평가된 이 지역의 약 12,000명 노인들을 장기적으로 치료할 예정이다.
센터는 노인 상담사 및 노인병 전문의, 전문 간호사, 보건사, 약사, 테라피스트, 사회복지사 그리고 자원봉사자를 포함한 종합 전문가 팀이 꾸려져 있다. 센터에는 전문가 팀이 혈액 검사, 엑스레이 그리고 CT 스캔을 할 수 있게 해주는 진단의도 있다. 이 도시 동쪽에 있는 데이비드 리스터 학교의 대지였던 곳에 세워진 센터는 2018년 5월부터 운영되고 있다. 장기적 목표는 미리 계획되지 않은 사업의 예산을 20%까지 줄이는 것이었다.
이는 전문기관에 의해 580만 파운드까지 줄여들 것으로 예측됐으며, 이 절약된 예산은 새로운 서비스에 재투자될 것이다. 험버사이드 소방구조대 또한 현장에서 바로 투입이 가능한 소방서가 근처에 있으며, 다른 화재, 구조 사고에 대응할 수 있을뿐 아니라 낙상에 대응한 팀도 마련되어 있다. 추가로 환자들 의 재활과 회복을 지원하는 팀을 구성하고자 협의가 진행되고 있다. ICC는 건강과 사회복지법이 2012년 시행된 이래로 완성된 첫 자본 프로젝트다.
센터는 직원과 방문자, 환자들을 위해 설계됐는데, 환자들이 병원에서 명확하게 길을 찾을 수 있도록 도우며, 환자들이 풍경을 조망할 수 있도록 건물 내부는 개방적이고 투명하도록 만들어졌다. 전체적인 설계 콘셉트는 건물에 들어설 때부터 긴장을 풀 수 있도록 도움을 주고, 방문객들을 따뜻하게 맞이하는 것이다.
신속 진단(RA), 건강 허브과 테라피의 세 가지 서비스는 공동 공간과 연결된 두 개 주요 건물의 부속 동에 배치되어 있다. RA 시설은 서쪽 동에 있으며, 건강 허브와 테라피들은 동쪽 동에 있으며, 위에는 사무시설을 배치했다. 소방 및 구조 서비스는 대지의 남동쪽 모서리에 서비스센터를 두고, 계획 내에 통합됐다.
