BUNJIL PLACE

The City of Casey is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia. It is important that there is a complement of uses and that a new

community, cultural and civic heart is created that will represent and reflect the values of the community, and instil a new sense of place, pride and ownership for the residents.

Bunjil Place is a library, a performance theatre, a public gathering space, a place of exhibition, gallery and display, a flexible and experimental space for events, lectures, debate and celebration, it is a help point, a service centre and a place of work and collaboration.

Above all perhaps, it is a place where all of this overlaps and interconnects and at the centre is the interconnecting fluid form of the foyer gathering space, a non-hierarchical space that unifies the complex. Our approach reinforces the history and diversity of the area and will help keep alive the stories that have shaped the community that continues still to grow and evolve.

Our sources of inspiration is that of a “The Meeting of Many Paths” and the Bunjil the Eaglehawk; both central themes to the culture of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners and inhabitants of the land.

The design creates a new cultural and community heart that is drawn from the traditions and qualities that make Narre Warren and the City of Casey special and will be a unique place and icon. The importance of the Princes Highway and Magid Drive entry is recognised through a considered and formal building geometry that fans out from this corner, creating radial axes and alignments of building forms, relating to the neighbouring Arc Building, the entry to the shopping centre and the alignment of the street.

Overlaid upon this arrangement is an informal meandering and organic organisation that creates curving groundplane connections between the various project components and surrounds. It defines both internal and external usages, creating a fluid expression and arrival as a “meeting of many paths”.

번질플레이스 케이시(Casey) 시는 호주에서 가장 빠르게 성장하는 지역 중 하나이다. 보완적인 용도가 있어야 하고 공동체의 가치를 대표하고 반영할 새로운 공동체, 문화 및 시민 정신이 창출되고 주민들에게 새로운 장소에 대한 자부심 및 소유권이 부여되어야 한다.

번질플레이스는 도서관, 공연장, 공공 장소, 전시장, 갤러리 및 전시실, 이벤트, 강연, 토론 및 축하를 위한 유연하고 실험적인 공간이며, 서비스 센터 및 협업공간이다. 무엇보다도 이 모든 것이 중복되고 상호 연결되는 곳이며, 중심에는 복잡한 공간을 통합하는 유체적인 비계층적 공간 인 로비가 있다.

설계의 접근방식은 이 지역의 역사와 다양성을 강화시키고, 계속해서 성장하고 발전하는 공동체를 형성해온 이야기들을 되살리는데 도움을 줄 것이다. 영감의 원천은“다양한 길의 만남”과 번질(Bunjil) 이글 호크이다.

쿠린(Kulin) 국 토지의 원주민들(Boon Wurrung)의 문화에 대한 두 가지 주요 주제가 여기에 있다. 이 디자인은 나레 워런(Narre Warren)과 케이시(Casey) 시를 특별하게 만들고 독특한 장소와 상징이 될 전통과 특성으로부터 이끌어낸 새로운 문화 및 지역 공동체 정신을 만들어 낸다.

프린스 고속도로(Princes Highway)와 마그리드 드라이브(Magid Drive) 진입의 중요성은 이 지역에서 펼쳐지는 사려 깊고 형식적인 건물 형상을 통해 인식되며 인접한 아크 빌딩(Arc Building)과 쇼핑 센터 입구 및 거리에서 방사형 축을 생성한다. 이러한 배치에는 다양한 프로젝트 구성요소와 주변부 사이를 유기적으로 연결하는 구불구불한 길이 중첩되어 있다. 그것은 내부 및 외부에서의 사용을 모두 정의하며“다양한 경로의 만남”으로서 유동적인 표현과 도착을 만들어 낸다.
