The Aluminum Mountain

Wutopia Lab proposed an aluminum mountain supported by six concrete columns in Mt. Luofu, Guangdong Province. This aluminum mountain, serving as a center for the traditional Chinese medical industry, features a peak that appears to float, achieved by a 30-ton steel truss supporting a cantilever structure of up to 10 meters. The continuous circular underground space creates an atmosphere akin to a bubble maze, encouraging visitors to lose their sense of time and space, and prompting a perception of slowed time. This space evokes a sense of happiness through modern design rooted in traditional wisdom, offering an experience beyond a conventional sales center, where people can reconnect with lost lifestyles, humanism, and the wisdom of today's era.

우토피아 랩은 광둥성 로오푸산에 6개의 콘크리트 기둥으로 지지되는 알루미늄 산을 제안했다. 중국 전통 의료 산업을 위한 센터인 이 알루미늄 산은 미묘하게 떠있는 산봉우리같이 보이도록 최대 10m의 캔틸레버 구조를 지지하는 30톤의 강철 트러스가 적용됐다. 연속적인 원이 사용된 지하공간은 마치 거품 미로 같은 분위기로 방문객들이 시간과 공간에 대한 의식을 잃어버리는 체험으로 느린 시간의 감각을 만든다. 이는 스스로를 드러내기 위한 판매센터가 아닌, 오늘날 우리들이 잃어버린 생활방식이나 휴머니즘, 전통적인 지혜를 통한 현대적인 공간에서 행복을 느끼게 하는 장소다.
