Tidewater was created by remodeling a typical small hanok with a small pavilion located in Seochon.
We planned to be an open space where anyone can easily come and go like a local pavilion, as a small-structured hanok, which is closed in a square shape, is composed of a cafe. The gate was opened so that you can see the middle of the street from the street, and the movement line was pushed out of the hanok so that you can read the layer of space, which is the characteristic of the hanok structure, so that you can create a view as far as possible. The existing entrance is located in the center of the hanok fa드의ade and is supposed to step on the middle gate, but we opened the gate and planned to pass the middle gate sideways so that you can see the interior space of the middle and beyond together. In addition, the floor was extended from the foundation to form lumps to make vertically standing wooden structures more visible, and the outdoor floor material came into the room and expanded the outside into the interior so that it could look larger. The overall tone was aimed at a calm collar so that natural colors could be smeared, and the light was planned to be smeared naturally. Among the various ways of enjoying hanok, the structure of water flowing was created by considering the auditory part in addition to the visual part, and the sound of water heard while falling water added to the atmosphere of hanok.

타이드워터는 서촌에 위치한 작은 중정이 있는 전형적인 소형 한옥을 개조하여 만들어졌다.

우리는 ㅁ 자로 닫혀 있는 작은 구조의 한옥이 카페로 구성되면서 동네의 정자처럼 누구나 쉽게 드나들 수 있는 열린 공간으로 계획하였다. 대문을 열어 길목에서도 중정을 들여다볼 수 있도록 하였으며 한옥 구조의 특징인 공간의 레이어를 읽을 수 있도록 동선을 한옥의 바깥쪽으로 밀어내어 최대한 먼 시선을 만들어 낼 수 있도록 하였다. 기존의 입구는 한옥 파사드의 중심에 위치하여 바로 중정을 밟게 되어있지만 우리는 대문을 열어냈고 중정을 옆으로 지나가 중정과 그 너머의 내부공간을 같이 볼 수 있도록 계획했다. 재료 또한 바닥은 기초에서 연장되어 덩어리를 만들어 수직적으로 서있는 목구조를 더 잘 보이게 의도했고 실외의 바닥재료가 실내로 들어와 외부가 내부로 확장되어 내부에서는 외부가 내부로 들어와 더 커 보일 수 있도록 했다. 전체적인 톤은 자연스러운 색감이 묻어날 수 있도록 차분한 칼라를 지향했으며 빛이 자연스럽게 묻어날 수 있도록 계획했다. 한옥을 즐기는 여러가지 방식 중에 시각적인 것 외에 청각적인 부분도 고려하여 물이 흐르는 구조를 만들었으며 낙수하면서 들리는 물소리가 한옥의 정취를 더할 수 있도록 하였다.
