Munho-ri house is a quiet hideout that would not be revealed. The house provides the sunset view which is dramatic scenery from the window of the small bedroom, not only that. The site is overlooking the beautiful and tranquil Bukhan River. It facing the slope is open toward the river, but the front of the house is arranged so that it faces the south where the sun can be fully received without facing the river. This is due to the nature of the region, it is considered that the hot and humid in summer and in winter do not thaw well. In addition, the area is characterized by a river view everywhere, which is maximized in the bedroom on the second floor of the house. The exterior is designed to be felt the sensitivity and humility by the colors and textures of bricks similar to the soil and a simple and neat form. So that, the house looks unrevealed as much as possible.

This joint is the position of the core that connects the upper and lower levels inside. Inside the two curved masses, each provides a different look at the yard. The first floor, which functions as a living room and kitchen, is large and simple. The entire wall is finished with natural ash walls to react to humidity. The curved wall connecting the living room and the kitchen is a reversal of the concave exterior form. The floor of the staircase in the center brings a experience the dichotomous properties of stone and wood. The second floor, which has a relatively small and charming atmosphere, is divided into a client's personal space and a guest space. The private space is arranged in the order of a Japanese-style sitting living room, a bedroom with a minimum area using a mattress, a long corridor dressing room, and a bathroom with a large window. On the opposite side is the bathroom and guest room with a terrace. The grass-lined terrace opens toward the slope. The living room on the second floor has two steps higher than the corridor. It forms a relatively low sense of space and provides an oriental image along with Korean paper top-hinged push-up windows. The size of the lower open window contrasts with the large windows on the first floor, inducing a dramatic effect. In addition, density changes in repeated spaces create a unique rhythm and another axis of emotion that constitutes the architecture. The ceiling of the bathroom exaggerates the height with artificial light falling through the wooden louvers. The slanted east window provides an experience of bathing in the morning sun. The parking space, which is lower than the yard, is protected by a tall reed hiding the car and the forest on the slope hugs the house.

문호리주택은 작은 침실의 창을 통해 저녁 노을의 풍경을 볼 수 있는 집이다. 집의 터는 아름답고 고요한 북한강을 바라보는 위치에 있다. 땅은 노을이 지는 저녁 풍경을 향해 열린 곳이다. 비탈을 등지고 있는 땅은 강을 향해 열려있지만, 집의 정면은 강을 향하지 않고 해를 온전히 받을 수 있는 남쪽을 바라보도록 배치했다. 지역의 특성상 여름에는 고온 다습하고 겨울에는 그늘의 얼음이 웬만해서 녹지 않는다는 점을 고려했기 때문이다. 또한, 주변 어느 곳에서나 강을 볼 수 있기 때문에 요를 사용하는 2층 작은 침실에서만 강을 극적으로 경험할 수 있다. 외부는 집이 최대한 드러나지 않도록 간소하고 단정한 형태와 주변 토양과 비슷한 벽돌의 색과 질감으로 시간의 감수성과 겸손함이 느껴지길 바랐다.

갈대밭 뒤에 면한 주차 공간의 곡면 담장과 진입로 계단의 부드러운 선은 둥글게 성토된 잔디 마당과 이어지며 두 개의 매스를 연결하는 건축물의 곡선 관절로 자연스럽게 연결된다. 이 관절은 내부에서 위 아래층을 연결하는 코어의 위치다. 꺾여있는 두 개의 매스 내부에서는 하나의 마당을 바라보며 각각의 다른 시선을 제공한다. 거실과 주방의 기능을 하는 1층은 크고 단순하다. 벽면 전체는 천연의 회벽으로 마감되어 습도에 반응한다. 거실과 주방을 연결하는 곡선의 벽은 오목한 외부 형태의 반전이다. 중앙의 계단 바닥은 돌과 나무의 이분화된 물성을 경험하게 한다. 상대적으로 작고 아기자기한 분위기의 2층은 의뢰인의 개인 공간과 게스트 공간으로 나뉜다. 개인 공간은 일본 스타일의 좌식 거실과 요를 사용하는 최소 면적의 침실, 긴 복도형 드레스룸과 커다란 창이 있는 욕실의 순으로 배치되어 있다. 반대 편은 테라스가 딸린 게스트룸과 욕실이 있다. 잔디가 깔린 테라스는 비탈을 향해 열려 있다. 2층 거실은 복도보다 두 계단이 높다. 상대적으로 낮은 공간감을 형성하며 한지 들창과 함께 동양적인 이미지를 제공한다. 하부가 개방된 창의 크기는 1층의 커다란 창들과 대비되어 극적 효과를 유도한다. 더불어 반복되는 공간에서 밀도 변화는 고유의 리듬을 만들며 건축물을 구성하는 또 다른 감정의 축을 만든다. 욕실의 천장은 원목의 루버 사이로 인공의 빛이 떨어지며 높이를 과장한다. 비스듬히 동쪽으로 난 창은 아침 햇살 속 입욕의 경험을 제공한다. 마당보다 내려앉은 주차 공간은 키 높은 갈대가 자동차를 숨기고 비탈의 숲은 집을 감싸 안으며 보호한다. 그렇게 드러나지 않는 고요한 은신처가 되길 바랐다.
