Kappo Akii, which specializes in kappo cuisine, opened in Samseong Station, a business-oriented district where COEX and others are located. “SETTLED NIGHT” Kappo Akii opens from evening to night, and it takes care of the happiness after work with taste. We expressed in the space the ‘beauty that is seen as the light seeps through the various characteristics of the city center at dusk’, which could not be seen well during the day.
The 380m² Kappo Akii contains a gate, corridor, halls, bars, rooms, kitchen and a service area. A new scene was created for each space composition and also within one space to give various senses of space.
Even though people get off the elevator from the hotel, the gate of this space is designed as an elevator door, giving people a witty confusion as well as providing a new experience with an axis that does not change despite getting on the elevator through the space.
The narrow and long corridor that is found through the gate brings a sense of immersion as a transition space for entering the hall due to the floor pattern and repeated line lighting from the three sides. Upon entering the hall, visitors are impressed by the round-designed bar and the rocks embedded in the light pillars. In the bar, the space is filled with the movement of the chefs and its vitality is enhanced. In addition, the diagonal wall and the circular banquet seats embedded in the floating middle mass provide a richness to the space.
The three large pillars were each finished with different materials including wood, textured navy paint, and marble-shaped big slab tiles, providing diversity in the space, and as the upper plate of the mass supporting the two pillars is made of gray glass, it reflects the material of the banquet mass and pillars, giving depth to the space. The diagonal wall was finished using textured black paint, but the space with the embedded seats were contrasted by using soft navy paint, providing comfort to diners. Wood and textured beige pain were mixed and matched in the service area mass and the room mass to express the warmth of the materials, and the entire space was balanced.
While the ceiling was finished in a dark tone, the areas of the ceiling that meet the pillars, the diagonal wall, the rooms, and the service area mass were diagonally caved in to pour out warm light, providing a freshness while merging the spaces that have each shown different scenes.
There are two types of rooms, and each room was designed with a different concept, allowing a customer to have different experiences even if they use a room space multiple times. The first room was designed using patterned glass to induce light scattering, and was designed so that the other side of the glass felt like the exterior even though they are dining inside. In the second room, the top and bottom of nature were turned upside down, and flowers and plants were planted upside down on the ceiling to give people a different sense of joy within the space while eating.
갓포 요리를 전문으로 하는 갓포 아키는 코엑스 등 업무 중심 지구인 삼성역에 위치한다. 공간 콘셉트는 “SETTLED NIGHT” 저녁부터 밤까지 오픈하는 갓포 아키는 업무 후의 행복을 맛으로 책임진다. 우리는 낮엔 잘 보이지 않았던 ‘도심의 다양한 성격을 어스름한 밤이 되어서 빛이 스며듬으로 인해 보이는 아름다움’을 공간에 표현했다.
380m²의 갓포아키는 게이트, 복도, 홀, BAR, 룸, 주방 그리고 서비스 AREA로 이루어져 있다. 공간 구성마다 그리고 한 공간 안에서도 다양한 공간감을 주기 위해 각각 새로운 scene을 연출했다. 호텔에서 엘리베이터를 타고 내렸음에도 이 공간의 게이트는 엘리베이터 문으로 디자인되어서 사람들에게 위트 있는 혼동을 주는 동시에 공간을 통과하는 엘리베이터를 탔음에도 변하지 않는 축을 이용해 새로운 경험을 제공한다.
게이트를 통과해서 나오는 좁고 긴 복도는 바닥 패턴과 3 면에서 나오는 반복적인 라인 라이팅으로 인해 홀에 들어가기 위한 전이공간으로 몰입감을 가져다준다. 홀에 들어서면 라운드로 디자인된 바와 라이팅 기둥에 박혀있는 바위를 보고 임팩트를 받는다. 바에서는 셰프들의 움직임으로 공간이 채워지고 활력이 업그레이드된다. 그리고 사선의 벽체와 띄워져 있는 가운데 메스 등에 박혀있는 원형의 벵큇 좌석들이 공간의 풍요로움을 제공한다.
거대한 세개의 기둥은 우드, 네이비 텍스처 페인팅, 대리석 모양의 빅 슬래브(Big slab) 타일로 각기 다른 재질로 마감하여 공간에 대한 다양성을 제공하고 두 개의 기둥을 받치고 있는 메스의 상판은 그레이 경으로 뱅큇 메스와 기둥의 재질을 반사하여 공간의 깊이를 준다. 사선 벽체는 블랙 텍스처 페인팅으로 마감하였지만 좌석이 박힌 공간은 부드러운 네이비 페인트로 재질의 대비를 줘서 식사를 하는 사람에게 안락함을 느끼게 한다. 서비스 공간과 룸은 우드와 베이지 텍스처 페인팅을 믹스 & 매치하여 소재가 가져다주는 따듯함을 표현했고, 공간 전체의 밸런스를 잡아줬다.
천정은 다크한 한 톤으로 마감했지만 기둥들과 사선의 벽체, 룸, 서비스 공간 메스가 맞닿은 천정은 사선으로 파여서 따듯한 빛을 쏟아내어 각기 다른 장면을 보였던 공간을 융합하는 역할과 동시에 신선함을 제공한다. 룸은 총 2가지가 있고 각각 다른 콘셉트로 디자인하여 고객이 룸을 여러 번 이용하더라도 각기 다른 경험을 제공하고 싶었다. 첫 번째 룸은 패턴 유리를 이용해 빛의 산란을 유도하여 내부에서 식사하지만 유리 바깥의 공간은 외부의 느낌으로 디자인했다. 두 번째 룸은 자연의 상, 하를 뒤집어 꽃과 식물들을 천정에 거꾸로 심어서 사람들에게 식사하는 동시에 공간에서의 색다른 재미를 주었다.
갓포 아키의 공간은 다양한 형태와 재질들로 각기 다른 장면을 제공하여 이용자들로 하여금 새로운 공간의 느낌을 전달한다. 그리고 더 나아가서 조명 시스템과, 오브제에 따라서 저녁과 늦은 밤, 그리고 계절별로 풍부한 이미지를 연출 가능하다. 어스름한 도시에 스며든 빛으로 보이는 아름다운 감각들을 다양하지만 절제된 미적인 표현을 통해 공간에서의 감각적 경험을 제공하려 한다.
