SHELTERS FOR HOTEL BJORNSON

Ark-shelter was asked to build a cluster of forest apartments for hotel Bjornson. The investor had a clear idea of one side oriented double cabins, placed in the surrounding of the main hotel building, which made our design solution relatively straightforward. We consider the concept of placing the modules between the trees ecological, not only for the tree preservation, but also for the minimum contact of the modules with the ground due to raising them on stilts instead of laying on the classic concrete plate foundations. This allows the landscape to continuously flow under the building and breathe, while the green roof of the module doubles the biotope that lays beneath it.

The apartment design was based on the client’s idea of the outer shell, one sided orientation and views, that had to fit quite a large program. All buildings/cottages comprise of two independent modules, each with its own independent apartment consisting of a bedroom-living room, children’s room, entry hall and a bathroom.

Each of these two separately functioning units can be connected into one by sliding the partitioning wall of the living rooms, creating a spacious central space where two families can meet and socialize. Two of the apartments function as mirrored and shifted modules with smaller spatial changes to them, such as larger bathroom or extra balcony, enriching the apartment diversity.

Cottages are placed in the forest, facing away from each other into the undisturbed scenes of the forest or the ski slope. It is the immediate contact with the ski slope that creates the unique atmosphere of the resort.

Guests find themselves in the forest and at the same time in the middle of the ski resort Jasná thanks to the disposition of the modules which ensure privacy and peace within arm’s reach of the main hotel building. We also designed an extension of the hotel’s restaurant and a forest wellness built from four Ark-shelter modules that form a cluster of saunas and relaxation rooms with a masseur.

호텔 비욘슨은 숲속 작은 휴양용 주거 단지다. 메인 호텔 건물 주변 지역에 한 방향을 향하는 두 개의 오두막이었다. 우리는 나무들 사이에 단순히 공간을 배치하는 개념보다는 더 나아간 보존의 의미를 따져본다. 나무를 보존시키는 행위에서 생태적인 것이 아니라 클래식한 콘크리트 판을 대지에 놓는 것부터 이러한 공간들이 기둥에서 자라는 것까지 땅과 최소한으로 접촉된다는 점에서 생태적이라고 할 수 있다. 이는 박스 형태의 공간 아래, 놓여있는 작은 생활공간을 만들고, 공간들 아래로 계속해서 흐르고 변화하는 풍경과 함께 숨 쉬도록 만든다.

공동 주거공간은 꽤 큰 프로그램에 맞춰져야 하는 외부 셸, 일방향성 및 전망에 대한 건축주 요청에 기반되어 있다. 모든 건물/오두막들은 각각 침실-거실, 어린이 방, 입구 홀과 화장실로 구성된 독립된 아파트로 이루어진 두 개의 독립 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 이들 두 개 각각은 독립적으로 기능하는 유닛들이며, 거실의 칸막이 벽을 밀면서 하나로 연결될 수 있고, 두 가족들이 만나고 소통할 수 있는 넓은 중앙 공간을 만들어준다. 아파트 두 동의 결합은 아파트의 다양성을 풍부하게 이동 가능한 모듈로써 적은 공간적 변화로 화장실 혹은 추가 발코니를 제공한다.

오두막들은 숲에 위치하여 숲 혹은 스키 경사면의 방해받지 않는 전망으로 서로 등지고 있다. 이는 독특한 리조트의 분위기를 조성해 주는 스키 경사로 바로 접근할 수 있게 한다. 방문자들은 주요 호텔 건물이 가까이 있는 와중에 사생활과 편안함을 보장해주는 모듈의 배치 덕에 자신들이 숲에 있는 것을 인지하며 스키 리조트 야스나의 중심에 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 호텔의 레스토랑의 확장과 사우나와 마사지사가 있는 휴식실 단지를 형성하는 네 개의 모듈로부터 조성된 숲속 힐링 공간도 있다.
