HZMB HONG KONG PORT PASSENGER CLEARANCE BUILDING

The building is the customs and immigration facilities for travellers leaving and entering Hong Kong by the bridge and is a collaborative project designed by the two architects. The bridge links Zhuhai and Macau to Hong Kong and provides a strategic southern connection between the 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area Megapolis by linking the West and East Pearl River Delta in China.

Improving the overall connectivity of the Greater Bay Area, the bridge fosters the flow of people, goods, capital and information while significantly reducing travel time between Greater Bay Area cities. The PCB is situated close to the Airport’s transport links, including the SkyPier Ferry Terminal, and the MTR’s Airport Express and Tung Chung line.

It will serve as the crossing point between the boundaries of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, and the facilities provide extensive amenities for all passengers passing through it. The PCB is Hong Kong’s new ‘front door’ and celebrates the natural skyline of the sea and evergreen mountains that surrounds it. The waveform roof reinforces the simple and clear circulation of the facilities and the undulating flow of surrounding waters.

Movement through the building is punctuated with four double-height voids over reflecting pools to allow natural daylight to penetrate all levels of the building. The natural light plays a role in connecting the Departure area on the first floor and the Arrival area on the ground floor. The elegant modular roof has enabled efficiency and quality during the construction process. The project is environmentally friendly and meets the highest standards for new developments utilizing innovative green technologies.

홍콩과 마카오를 잇는 강주아오 대교의 홍콩 터미널
강주아오 대교(Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, 줄여서 HZMB)는 홍콩, 중국 주하이, 마카오를 잇는 총 55km의 교량이자 해저터널이다. 다리는 중국 서부 광둥성 지역인 진장, 장먼, 주하이, 중산 등과 홍콩을 잇고 있으며, 다리의 설치로 인해 홍콩을 육로로 접근하기에 편리해졌다.

이 홍콩 터미널은 강주아오 대교를 통해 홍콩을 출입하는 여행자를 관리하는 세관, 출입국 관리 시설이다.스카이피어 페리터미널, MTR의 공항 지하철 및 퉁청 노선을 포함하여 홍콩 첵랍콕 공항의 이동 연결로 근처에 있는 터미널 건물은 홍콩, 주하이, 마카오의 경계를 가로지르는 교차점이다.

또한, 이 터미널을 통과하는 모든 승객에게 광범위한 편의 시설을 제공하며, 홍콩의 새로운 ‘관문’의 역할을 한다. 터미널의 형태는 건축물 주변의 바다와 산의 스카이라인을 돋보이게 하는 형태로 지어졌다. 넘실거리는 파도같은 지붕은 터미널과 다리를 주변을 감싸는 물의 흐름같이 느껴진다.

높은 보이드 공간은 자연광이 건물 내부로 들어올 수 있도록 만들며, 2층의 출국장과 1층의 입국장까지 연결된다. 우아한 곡선 지붕은 모듈식으로 지어져, 효율적이고 품질 높은 건설 과정을 가능하게 만들면서, 환경친화적이면서 혁신적인 친환경 기술이 접목된 건축물로 인정받기도 했다.
