Worinuri Welfare facilities is a facility that supports marginalized children to become self-supporting members of society. The facility was planned with the concept of “a warm home and a friendly alleyway” so that it feels like a comfortable home rather than a treatment facility to the children.
The physical properties of bricks and the shape of a gable roof deliver to the user a friendly and comfortable feeling. The lower part, which is constructed like a stereobate along the village road, and the upper part, which seem like houses huddled together, together project friendliness to children.
The building is separated into three masses, as opposed to one large mass, to blend in with the surrounding buildings and form a village. The courtyard was formed by borrowing the concept of alleyways in traditional villages, which are places of communication.
Children will feel safe and comfortable, as they gaze out into the courtyard from the waiting room where warm sunshine pours in.
The interior space was arranged in consideration of the difference in size and shape of each room, thus creating the atmosphere of a welcoming alleyway. The courtyard is positioned between the buildings, functionally separating the healing garden from the office and counseling space.
This plan also allows warm sunshine to come into the space and maximizes architectural beauty. The top floor space is planned with a changeable wall and can be extended to the external deck so that it can be utilized in various events at the center.
우리누리 사회복지센터
우리누리 사회복지센터는 사회에서 소외된 아이들의 든든한 버팀목이 되어 아이들이 사회 구성원의 한 사람으로 자립할 수 있도록 지원하는 시설이다. 아이들에게 치료 시설이 아닌 편안한 보금자리로 다가갈 수 있도록 “따뜻한 집, 정겨운 골목길”이라는 컨셉으로 계획되었으며 주재료인 벽돌의 물성과 박공 지붕의 조형은 이용자에게 친근하고 편안한 감성으로 다가간다.
마을의 길을 따라 기단처럼 구성된 저층부와 지상2층의 집들이 옹기종기 모여 있는 이미지들은 아이들에게 친숙감을 준다. 하나의 거대한 매스가 아닌 분절된 3개의 집은 주변의 건물들과 스케일상으로 조화를 이루고 마을을 구성한다.
소통의 장이 되는 마을의 골목길 개념을 차용하여 비워진 중정을 구성하였다. 따뜻한 햇살이 드리우는 대기실에서 앞마당과 중정을 바라보며 아이들은 편안함과 안정감을 느낄 수 있도록 했다. 내부 공간은 각 실들의 규모와 형태의 차이를 고려한 의도적인 배치로 정겨운 골목길의 분위기를 연출하였다.
바라만 보고 있어도 얼어붙은 마음이 녹여지는 치유의 정원과 사무 및 상담공간을 기능적으로 분리시켜주는 중정을 건물 사이에 배치하여 내부공간에 따뜻한 햇살을 공급하고 조형미를 극대화 하였다. 최상층 공간은 가변식 벽으로 계획하고 외부 데크 공간까지 확장 가능하도록 하여 복지센터의 다양한 행사에 활용될 수 있도록 하였다.
