ZAC FULTON – LOT A5A2

파리 오스터리츠역 남쪽에 자리 잡은 잭 풀턴 A5A2 공동주택은 이 지역의 급격하게 변화하는 도시 양상을 보여주는 건축물이다. 도시 블록 한 가운데에 거대한 몸집을 가진 이 공동주택은 상업시설과 주거시설이 같이 들어서 있다. 주거시설은 일반적인 공동주거 유닛 55가구와 사회적 약자를 위한 주거 유닛 65가구로 구성된다. 도시에서 센강을 바라볼 수 있다는 이점을 가진 주거용 건축물인 만큼 건축가는 공간 곳곳에 로지아, 발코니, 테라스를 배치하여 주거 공간 내에서 야외 공간을 만끽할 수 있도록 설계했다.

 

건축물의 입면은 크게 두 가지로 구분된다. 거리에서 마주치는 건축물의 정면은 깔끔하면서도, 반복적인 발코니 공간들이 입면에 드러나 볼륨의 리듬을 만든다. 반대로 블록 중심부를 향하는 건축물의 입면에는 따뜻하고 아늑한 느낌이 드는 베이지색의 큰 출입구가 있고, 발코니와 유리창이 규칙적으로 나타나는 것을 볼 수 있다. 공동주택의 중심부는 거리를 향해 열려 있으며, 다양한 식생들을 만날 수 있는 정원으로 꾸며져 있다. 건축가는 파리의 빽빽한 도시적 맥락 속에서 거주자들과 지나가는 사람들을 위한 신선하고 외딴섬 같은 휴식 공간을 만들고자 했다.

Located south of Paris' Osteritz Station, the ZAC Fulton A5A2 residential complex stands as an architectural manifestation of the rapidly changing urban landscape in this area. Positioned in the heart of a city block, this residential complex integrates commercial and residential facilities. The residential component contains 55 units for general residents and an additional 65 units tailored for socially vulnerable individuals. Given the advantage of overlooking the Seine River from an urban setting, the architect has strategically designed loggias, balconies, and terraces throughout the residential areas, allowing residents to enjoy outdoor areas within the complex.

 

The facade of the building is divided into two distinct aspects. The front-facing facade, visible from the street, features a clean design with repetitive balconies creating a rhythmic pattern across the volume. Conversely, the facade directed towards the center of the block exhibits a warm and cozy atmosphere, characterized by a large beige entrance, balconies, and regularly placed glass windows. The central part of the residential complex is open toward the street and is adorned with a garden featuring assorted plant life. The architect created a refreshing and secluded oasis-like relaxation area for residents and passersby amidst the dense urban context of Paris.
