오이타 이치고 유치원 분원은 주택가에 자리한 기존 유치원의 놀이터 같은 공간으로 계획됐다. 동서쪽으로 펼쳐진 광장은
기존 건물과 공간적으로 연결된다. 건물의 위아래층을 오가는 수직 동선은 지붕이 덮인 외부 공간으로 디자인하여 놀이
요소를 가미했다. 테라스는 계단으로 오갈 수 있고, 건물 서쪽에는 계단과 함께 미끄럼틀도 계획했다. 동쪽에는 그물
놀이터와 클라이밍 공간을 마련했다. 2차원을 넘어선 3차원의 놀이 공간에서 아이들이 함께 몸을 움직이고 소통하는
공간을 만드는 것이 프로젝트의 목표였다.
The Oita Ichigo Kindergarten Branch was designed as a playful space similar to the existing kindergarten’s playground and is located in a residential area. The plaza extending to the east and west is spatially connected to the existing building. A vertical circulation route between the upper and lower floors of the building was designed to incorporate outdoor spaces covered by the roof, adding elements of play. The terrace is accessible via stairs, and on the west side of the building, a slide was planned in addition to stairs. To the east, a net playground and climbing zone are provided. The goal of the project was to create a setting beyond the 2D realm, where children can move and communicate together in a 3D play area.
