로마의 남부 교외, 토르 데 첸치에서는 카스텔포르지아노 자연보호구역이 내려다보이는 아파트가 있다. 젊은 변호사 부부는 풍부한 자연광을 바라보며 휴식을 취할 수 있는 테라스를 가진 이 아파트를 새로운 주거공간으로 만들기 위하여 리노베이션을 의뢰했다. 루드 하우스는 다양한 색, 분위기, 질감을 조화롭게 혼합하여 건축의 촉각적 경험을 자극한다. 깨끗하고 우아한 선들은 부엌의 테라코타나 구멍이 뚫린 벽돌 벽과 기존의 구조가 드러나며, 균형을 이루고 있어 생활 영역과 서재를 구분한다. 생활공간은 현관, 거실, 식당, 주방 등이 노출된 콘크리트의 지지구조로 시각적으로 연결된 미완성 벽이 있다. 테라스는 아파트의 남서쪽 전체를 따라 뻗어 있어 숨막히는 석양을 제공한다. 기존 문턱을 차지하는 트래버틴으로 덮은 외부 석공주방은 파라펫과 식탁의 좌석 역할을 하는 벤치에 일체형으로, 수평면은 나무 널빤지로 덮었다. 차양용 루버 시스템은 침실의 프라이버시를 보호해주며 내부와 외부의 경계를 모호하게 한다.

In Tor de’ Cenci, a southern suburb of Rome, is an apartment that overlooks the Castel Porziano Natural Reserve. A young lawyer couple commissioned the renovation to create a new living space with a terrace where they could relax and enjoy the abundance of natural light. Rude House stimulates the tactile experience of architecture by harmoniously mixing various colors, moods, and textures. Clean, elegant lines that separate the living areas from the study, are balanced by exposed and existing structures, such as the terracotta and perforated brick walls in the kitchen. In the living space is an unfinished wall that visually connects the entrance, living room, dining room, and kitchen with the exposed concrete support structure. The terrace stretches along the entire southwest side of the apartment, offering breathtaking sunset views. The external masonry kitchen, covered in travertine that occupies the existing threshold, is integrated into the parquet and the bench that serve as seating for the dining table, while the horizontal surfaces are covered with wooden slats. The louver sun shade system protects the privacy of the bedroom and blurs the boundary between the inside and outside.
