Floating Melodies - Liyang Museum

The Liyang Museum designed by CROX was built with the traditional musical instrument "chomigum," a cultural symbol of Liyang, as its main concept. Eastern architecture designs both the interior and exterior as part of nature. The architect intended to express the interaction between humans and the building as a harmony of melody and nature. The upper part of the Liyang Museum is suspended over the lower part like a hill, creating an interaction between humans and nature by organically blending the upper and lower parts. Following the natural atmosphere, when entering the interior, a plaza guides visitors to the central courtyard of the museum. This courtyard was intentionally designed to gather people by attracting their attention with the light spreading from the droplet-shaped patio at night, resembling an open window.

CROX가 설계한 율양박물관은 율양의 문화적 상징인 전통 악기 “초미금”을 주요 콘셉트로 지어졌다. 동양 건축은 내부와 외부 모두를 포함해 자연의 한 부분으로 디자인한다. 건축가는 인간과 건물의 상호작용을 멜로디와 자연의 조화로 표현하고자 했다. 율양박물관의 윗부분은 박물관의 밑부분을 언덕 삼아 떠있다. 상부와 하부가 유기적으로 섞이면서 인간과 자연의 상호작용을 만나게 한다. 자연스럽게 반기는 분위기를 따라 내부에 들어서면 광장이 방문객들을 박물관 중앙 뜰로 안내한다. 건축가가 의도적으로 사람을 모은 이 뜰은, 밤이 되면 물방울 모양 파티오에서 퍼트리는 빛이 열린 창문처럼 퍼져 나가고 사람들의 시선을 끌어모은다.
