Most important 100% wood housing project in Europe and tallest in France, the ilot Biosource hosts 146 flats across its 11 stories. On a concrete basement stands the CLT floors whose partitions, elevator shaft and stairs are all made of CLT wood while offering spacious housing and generously letting in natural light.

The technical performance enables here an optimal living quality. “Sensations” is a demonstrative project of the vast possibilities offered by timber knowledge. The quality of bio-sourced materials and their minimal carbone footprint, lower as the wood ratio grows, are nowadays just the premises of what sustainable architecture can bring to cities.

다양한 발코니를 가진 프랑스 최대 규모의 목조 주거시설, 센세이션 빌딩

유럽에서 가장 영향력 있다고 불리는 100% 목재주택프로젝트의 일환으로 지어진 센세이션 빌딩은 11층에 총 146가구가 거주할 수 있는 공동주거 시설이다. 콘크리트로 이루어진 지하는 칸막이와 승강기 샤프트 및 계단이 모두 CLT 목재와 CLT 바닥으로 되어 있어, 넓은 내부 주거 공간을 제공하고 자연 채광이 풍부하게 들어온다. 발코니로 인한 인상적이고도 친근한 도시 풍경을 만들어내기도 한다.

센세이션 빌딩은 프랑스에서는 가장 높은 목조 건축물로써, 기술적 성능이 뒷받침되면 충분히 목조 주택에서 최적의 삶을 보장할 수 있다는 것을 보여주기도 한다. 기후 조건에 민감한 나무라는 건축 자재가 도시 환경에서 어떻게 지속가능할 수 있는지 보여주는 유럽의 대표 목조 건축물이다.
