제이 아파트

기존의 30년 넘은 구축 아파트는 넓은 안방, 음식 보관을 용이하게 하기 위한 주방의 북향 배치, 식사를 하는 공간과 손님을 맞이하는 안방이 구분되는 특징을 보였다. 이는 안방에서 손님을 맞이하고 식사도 하던 전통적인 주거방식과 용도에 따라 방을 구분하여 사용하는 서양의 방식이 혼재한 과도기의 유형이었다.

현대의 아파트 구조는 치열하게 바뀌어 왔다. 식사와 요리는 가족, 친구들과 공유하는 즐거움이 되었고 주방과 식당은 주거의 중심이 되었다. 침실은 일반적인 침대 생활과 함께 특성화된 개별 실로 자리 잡았다. 디자이너는 빛을 절제하는 것이 오히려 장점이 될 수 있는 침실을 북측으로, 손님을 맞이하고 가족들이 모여서 시간을 나눌 수 있는 주방을 남측으로 배치했다. 세탁실은 드레스룸과 연계성을 높이고, 스타일러는 현관 가까이에 배치하여 외투를 정리하는 위치를 정의한다. 확장된 발코니는 서재와 주방으로 접근하는 기존 동선을 살려서 앙필라드(Enfilade) 형식으로 배치했다. 우수관은 동선을 가로막는 장애물에서 새로운 오브제로 해석할 수 있도록 디자인했다.

The existing apartments, which are over 30 years old, feature a spacious master bedroom, a kitchen facing north for convenient food storage, and separate spaces for dining and entertaining guests. This reflects a transitional type of housing that blends traditional living styles, where guests are entertained and meals are served in the master bedroom, with the Western approach of using rooms for specific purposes.

 

The layout of modern apartments has changed dramatically. Cooking and dining have become activities enjoyed with family and friends, making the kitchen and dining area central to the home. Bedrooms have become specialized individual rooms accommodating typical use of beds. The designers placed the bedrooms on the north side, where the restraint of light can be an advantage, and the kitchen on the south side, to welcome guests and serve as a family gathering space. The laundry room is integrated with the dressing room, and the styler appliance is placed near the entrance to establish the location for organizing outerwear. The expanded balcony maintains the traditional flow towards the study and kitchen and is arranged in an enfilade style. The rainwater pipes are designed to be reinterpreted from obstacles of circulation to new objects of design interest.
