Folding Garden

To Chinese people, a garden is "the second nature." Towodesign designed this trade fair booth for the flooring brand Treessun based on the concept of Chinese classical gardens. The booth, which broke away from a conventional container booth, became a garden-like space that recreates nature. The architect accepted the booth as "architecture inside architecture." Unlike typical exhibition booths that are independent of the exhibits, the Folding Garden actively integrated the wooden flooring, which is also the exhibit, into the booth actively. The triangular structure combines the "tree garden" at the top and the "purple garden" at the bottom. The "tree garden" is divided by a wooden slope as if the ground was folded, expressing the naturalness of Treessun's flooring, while the "purple garden" hidden below is a space that represents Treessun's logo.

중국인에게 정원은 “제2의 자연”이다. 토우디자인(Towodesign)은 바닥재 브랜드 트리선(TREESSUN)의 이 무역박람회 부스를 설계하며 중국 고전정원들을 콘셉트로 삼았다. 기존의 컨테이너 일색의 무역박람회 부스에서 탈피한, 자연을 재창조하는 정원 같은 공간이 나타났다. 건축가는 부스를 “건축 내부의 건축”으로 받아들였다. 일반적으로 전시 부스는 전시물과 독립적이지만 폴딩 가든(Folding Garden)은 전시물인 목재 바닥재를 적극적으로 전시 부스에 활용해 두 가지를 통합시켰다. 삼각형으로 구성된 구조물은 상단의 “나무 정원”과 하단의 “보라빛 정원”을 결합하는 역할을 한다. 바닥을 접은 듯한 목재 비탈길로 나뉘는 “나무 정원”은 트리선 바닥재의 자연스러움을, 그 밑으로 숨겨진 “보라빛 정원”은 트리선의 로고를 표현하는 공간이다.
