Jeo/Chopsticks

Two pairs of sticks made of woods or metals for picking up foods.

'Jeo' of Jeo-Jip is a directive pointing somewhere in addition to the meaning of chopsticks and it has also other meaning to condescend 'myself'.

Buam-dong

The land is pervaded being shy for the atmosphere of this place having a naive attraction. Further, as it is located on northern side of Mt. Inwang which is located the rear side of Cheongwadae in sunny place, it seems to be gloomy. We wanted to make this place to be seemed like a monochrome picture by locating a small white house surrounded by mountains.

Outside

The weak point of this land sunken around 2m is that it created a deep space between the entrance and the building. A small roof of this building connected as a similar height with road side crosses this space horizontally and vertically and therefore, it provides more various visions.

Also, granite shown when demolishing the building and located on a small water space intends the connection with the land being utilized as it is and a sound of water dropping from the water pipe made of bamboo touches the deep space.

Inside

Object of ‘so ban’(Korean traditional small table which used for eating food and putting it down) spread into the space is trembled like a floating lotus leaf when you touch it. Hanji (a tranditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry trees) colored with Chinese ink is spread into the space like a water fog at dawn. Object in ceiling made of bamboo becomes a cloud in blue sky. Also, a wide window borrowing the scenery of outside via white cloth remembers the view like seeing a old picture.

A small room stained with Chinese ink is blown by the wind of black bamboo and in here, we can hear the sound of flowing water via a window.

저 / 箸 / 젓-가락

음식을 집어먹기 위해 나무나 금속으로 만든 두 쌍의 막대기

저-집의 저는 젓가락의 의미 외에 어느 곳을 가리키는 지시어, 그리고 ‘나’를 낮추는 말의 세 가지 뜻을 품고 있다.

부암동

어수룩한 매력을 지닌 이 곳의 분위기에 수줍은 듯 대지가 내려 앉아 있다. 게다가 양지 바른 청와대의 뒤편에 자리한 인왕산의 북 쪽에 위치해 을씨년스럽기까지 하다. 우리는 주변이 산으로 둘러쌓인 하얀 작은집을 놓아 한 장의 흑백사진처럼 보이고자했다.

외부

약 2m가량 내려앉은 이 대지의 취약점은 진입부와 건물 사이에 깊은 공간을 형성하였고 도로면과 비슷한 높이로 연결된 작은 옥상은 두 공간을 수직과 수평으로 교차되며 보다 다양한 시선을 제공한다.

또한 작은 수공간에 있는 철거 당시 나온 화강암은 그대로를 활용하여 대지와의 연결을 의도하고 대나무 수관에서 떨어지는 물소리는 공명되어 깊은 공간을 울린다.

내부

공간 안에 넓게 퍼져 있는 소반의 오브제는 물 위에 떠 있는 연잎처럼 손을 데면 흔들리고 소반의 배경이 되고 있는 먹물로 염색된 한지는 새벽녘 물안개처럼 공간에 번지며 가는 대나무로 만든 천장의 오브제는 맑은 하늘의 구름 한 점이 된다. 또한 백색의 천을 통해 외부를 차경하는 넓은 창은 바랜 사진을 보듯 풍경을 기억한다.

먹으로 물들어 있는 작은 방은 창을 통해 물소리가 흐르고 오죽의 바람을 맞는다.
