Landscape made by other views, and memory

Young couple and their kids, husband’s retired parents, and travelers who stay for a while and go (guest house). All those are the main agents who will write a story about this house. This house is a multi-household house where these three main agents are living, and there is going to be a cafe for travelers at the guest house and an office at the first floor.

At the site on a hill one can see a panoramic view surrounding low mountains. However, this site where it is one of hundreds of spilt land will be cut down in parts as time goes by. Perhaps it is a destination of rearranged land by a unit district, because it is difficult for the site to be expected for a pastoral scenery at first. Not calling nature being out of eyeshot as a landscape is from the fact that it is beyond eyeshot of people.

Wherever it is nature or a part of a city, once eyeshot reaches and an impression is made, it will be a landscape. What makes a landscape is not nature, but an eyeshot of people. Three different landscapes made by each eyeshot of three main agents in this house will leave respective impressions and memories about the house, and the accumulation of the memories will be an important property to satisfy the emotional aspect of being residing.

All three houses are maisonette type. In the simple box-type mass several inner/outer parts are intersecting, and by this status the eyeshot of people will be crossing and be facing a landscape filtered by layered spaces.

It was wanted that a panoramic view of the exterior was cut off by vertical windows, and then it would be shown as a scene of a film with other sceneries. It was also wished that the eyeshot toward an interior courtyard was overlapped with landscapes in four seasons, and then they would remain in different impressions.

Most important architectural tool for filtering a landscape is the 8 inches block that is being laid down and piled up at an interior courtyard. The interior courtyard will create composure which can include various aspects of life, because it is possible for a house dividing. And 8 inches blocks laid and piled up will act as a tool for connecting or blocking an eyeshot among households.

Architects expect that residents share their own memories, a common noun, house is changed to a proper noun, and they remember and reminisce the house that have special emotions.
